Once we were free
And we did most of what we pleased
We would play in the sun
Not caring if we got dirty
Having the best of fun
And constantly committing some trouble, surely
Our parents were there to protect us
To teach us all
To tuck us in at night
And bandage us when we fall
But now that we're older
We don't have their protection
We're on our own
Searching for our lost affection
I should've appreciated it at the time
How irresponsible we got to be
I wish I could go back in time
And be the younger version of me

PoésieI'm an okay poet. Some are sad and others really cheery! My rhymes can be pretty weak, though... but nonetheless, I hope you enjoy!!!
