Life was calm
Life was serene
Life was still
And life was boring
Until one day my parents brought home a dog
That's when life was different
I had waited for a puppy for soo long
And I automatically loved it as it sat there with a constant pant

The puppy ruined the carpet
It's running all over the place
The thing has changed soo much from when we first met
I can't keep up with it's rambunctious pace
It stole my hotdog
Dragged toilet paper into the hall
Whines when left alone
Why did I want a dog at all?

I was sad today
My parents were at work
My puppy wanted to play
I ignored it and ate my feelings with a fork
The dog whined
I stared at it
That's when it gently licked my hand
And I couldn't have a fit
As the dog rubbed against me
It filled my heart with the sincerest glee

I was sleeping
When suddenly I was awoken
I stared angrily at the dog
While it growled when suddenly the door opened
Someone broke into the house
My dog attacked the man
Glad by the dog I had been roused
I called the police with shaking hands
Eventually the man was caught
Dragged out by the policemen
Grateful for my dog
I noticed that it was one of my best friends

Finally an adult
Luckily I have a great start
I packed my bags
Ready from my parents to part
I was to bring my good friend
My old dog
But I was prepared for the end
She had lasted soo long
Immediately grieved
I sadly buried her
Why did she have to leave?
The reason was blurred
I wasn't moving out anymore
Cause I hadn't had this feeling before

Life was peaceful
Life was still
But I knew I could go on with out her
I will
But I will also remember what she's done for me
How she's given me patience
How she's given me strength, and tried her best to make me happy
