Maleek Ra'Shaun
I walked on the stage and looked out at the crowd of waiting people, "Good evening everyone," I started, though it was far from evening, "I want to thank you all for coming out to the opening of the fifth addition to my hotel chain. It really means alot to me."
I paused for the effect like I had rehearsed several times. I watched as the TelePrompTer I was supposed to be reading off of, stopped, and rewound where I had left off. Quite frankly, I couldn't bring myself to say the words anymore. "I'm supposed to be reading off a TelePrompTer right now, but," I sighed, "I can't relate to the words anymore. To be honest, I'd rather be talking about how the mistakes I made as a boy are still affecting me as I man."
They laughed at something I wasn't intending on being funny.
"Or how I abandoned my friends for years over a reason that I thought was right. Or how the love of my life, doesn't believe that she's the love of my life because I've lied to and cheated on her. How my seven years old son doesn't even know I exist and how badly I've hurt my baby brother... You all look at me and you see a man that is well put together and has a successful career ahead of him, but you don't know me. Do any of us know each other? Or are all we just here because the wine tastes good and the band is alright. People," I locked eyes with Chardé from across the room, "Don't let the greed for money take away the most important thing in life; love. It's not worth it."
I smiled as they all started to applaud. Char's eyes shifted from mine as she turned her attention back to the bar, ordering another drink. I made my way off stage where Shaad pulled me into a hug, "Ya know," we pulled away, "You're only ten minutes older than me. Stop saying baby brother like it's ten years."
I chuckled, "So about this fantasy?"
His grin spread even wider, "I don't know exactly how it went, but it did involve both of us making love to her."
"Both of us?"
"Don't tell me Maleek Ra'Shaun Cole isn't up for a threesome," he laughed.
"And Malachi Ra'Shaad Cole is?" I asked, "I don't remember you being the one to share girls."
"I don't remember you being the one to not mister player."
"Touché," I laughed, "So we're really about to do this?"
He shrugged, "I'm down if you are."
"Alright, here's the plan..."
Chardè
The music in this place shifted to slow jams and everyone broke off to dance. Martell was even nice enough to ask Tang for a dance and she agreed, leaving me to stand here at the bar all alone and slightly tipsy.
Leek's speech had gotten the best of me and I had figured that I needed a couple of stronger drinks to get it out of my head, but it was still here. Still invading my senses.
"Would you like to dance?" Mal asked as he appeared out of nowhere. The song changes to Slow Dance by Keri Hilson and I quickly nodded.
He smiled and escorted me onto the dance floor. His hands immediately found their way around my waist and mine, around his neck. I smiled and rested my head on his chest, letting the music and the feel of him take over.
Put your arms around me boy...
I got somethin' to show ya, tonight.
And you know I need ya undivided attention baby.
Ain't no other girl can rock your world, like I.
So, rewind...
Make this moment last forever baby.
