Snowed In

2. Falling

"The plane will be landing in London, England in five minutes"  One of the many flight attendants said in her British accent.

I was happy that this plain ride wasn't too horrible. Luckily, the person next to me was quiet the entire time, for they were listening to music. I absolutely hate it when they try to strike a conversation. And the food wasn't that bad either, just some simple pasta, not nearly as bad as you'd expect. Especially because of all the corny airplane food jokes, that bad comedians tell.

After the announcement, I reached above me; to the overhead compartments and took Liv's dress down. I still hadn't had a chance to look at it, because it was in a dress bag. But I suppose I'll have to do it another time, since I knew I would have the time to do it now.

I made sure that I had my lucky beanie and my purse. Once we were able to leave the plane, I grabbed all my stuff and got off the plane. When walking in the airport, I got some weird looks from people. I noticed they wee looking at what I was wearing. I was still in denim shorts and a band tee. I hadn't really thought of changing into warmer clothes, because it wasn't cold in LA.

All of my warmer clothes were in my suitcase.

I walked to the luggage claim to retrieve my suitcase. After watching the belt go around what seemed like a hundred times, I still didn't see my bags. I looked around to see if anyone had taken them, but didn't see anyone. Taking in a deep breath, I tried to calm down.

Finally after about half an hour, I decided to look for someone to help me. There was a man in a shirt with the name of the airport on it, standing next to the luggage claim. So I walked over to ask for advice.

I quickly walked over there, trying not to waste any time because I just wanted to get out of here and start my assignment. But I definitely couldn't do that with no other clothes than what I had on. Which I am positive is not appropriate for this winter weather.

"Excuse me, sir? My luggage is not here, it's missing." I said, trying to keep my voice from sounding very panicked and upset.

I explained to him what it looked like, and we looked for about half an hour. With no luck at all. Luckily, all my contact information was on it, so I just gave him my phone number to call if it turned up.

Only having Livvie's dress and my purse, I went to find the car rental. Luckily, it wasn't outside, but more of a garage. So, I wouldn't be freezing my butt off.

I rented the car in a surprisingly short amount to time, and put the dress in the trunk. I also took my beanie out of my purse and pulled it of my head, in the hope to stay a tiny bit warm. After heating up the car, I started my drive to Five Seconds of Summer's vacation home. Unfortunately, this trip had a horrible start.

At least the car was warm, and at least it had a GPS. I didn't even think to print out directions from the airport to the house. Now that I think about it, this trip wasn't planned well at all. I have absolutely no plan for once I get there. I'll probably just follow them around, and eavesdrop on their conversations. I don't even have anywhere to stay. I guess I just thought that I could find a random hotel.

"Drive one mile to reach your destination." The woman's voice from the GPS said.

At least I was close, but my clothing will be a huge problem.

Their vacation home was apparently at the top of a hill? Because, the drive was getting harder. It's extremely hard to drive up a snowy hill.

After a lot of struggle, I was able to get to the top of the hill but was extremely disappointed when I was stopped. Not by a person, but a sign. A "Private Property, No Trespassing" sign.

I groaned in frustration. I came all this way, to another country for god's sake, but was left at a dead end. Not wanting to wallow in my disappointment for any longer, I decided I just head back around and check into a hotel. I could use some relaxation after the horrible and stressful day I've had so far. When I get there, I can think of a plan to get information or maybe get into the house. If worse come to worse, I think I'll just act like I'm a delivery person.

I was about to turn back around, but the car wouldn't move. I tried again about three times, with no success. So I just gave up and groaned loudly, banging my hands on the steering wheel.

"This is not happening!" I screamed.

If it was an engine problem, I could have fixed it, for I used to help at my dad's shop. But there were no tools anywhere in the car. So, I got out of the car, to see what the problem was.

As soon as I climbed out, a freezing gust of wind came in my direction. I let a squeal at the cold wind.

"This is the worst trip ever!" I groaned, sprinting to the back of the car, to open up the trunk. Once opened, I pulled out Livvie's dress bag. With shaky hands, I unzipped the bag.

In the bag was a floor length midnight blue dress, with a sweetheart top, but lace from to top to the neck and lace sleeves. I could now see why Liv hated it. The Lace ruined it. I unzipped the dress and stepped into it, hoping it would warm me a little bit. My legs were a lot warmer, since they were fully covered. But there was barely a difference in my arms.

"I'm sorry Liv, but you'll thank me one day. At least your best friend won't die of frostbite." I muttered to myself.

When the dress was on, I walked over to the front of the car to see why it couldn't move, and saw that it was stuck in snow. I crouched down, and stuck my hands into the freezing snow, and started digging. Hoping it would free the tires. After doing that to each tire, I got back into warm car with a sigh, and tried turning again. But once again, it didn't work. I looked next to me, and grabbed my purse that was in the passenger seat, and pulled out my phone.

I don't know why I didn't call for a tow truck earlier. As I was about to call, I noticed that there was no service. It's not even like it was because I was in another country, I have international data and calling, I just guess I have the worst luck ever.

Could this night get any worse?

I sighed, and opened the door, ready to enter the ice cold world, once again. And ready to try to find signal to call for help, but just as before, there was no signal. I wondered around the general area, trying to stay close to the car, but get connection so I could contact someone.

I walked all around the car, but still could find any. I took more steps forward and suddenly, I was falling. I tripped over the chain that was holding up the "No Trespassing" sign, and went tumbling down the other side of the hill.

I let out a scream and several groans of pain as I came hurtling down. Reaching out to grab anything to stop me from rolling anymore, with no success.

As I came tumbling down, I didn't think of my job and how I wasn't going to get promoted. I thought of Olivia. I just ruined her chances of getting a fashion career, but wearing her dress which was currently getting ripped to shreds. Maybe I'll just die from this so I don't have to see her completely heartbroken.

I finally came to a stop, but hit my head badly on something really hard. The last thing I saw before I closes my eyes, was a boy running over to me.
