Luke and I sat in a comfortable silence on my bed, his arm resting behind me as I leaned against him. I looked up at his face to see him taking his lip into his mouth, obviously heavily thinking about something. But the sight of his lip bite kept me from wondering what he was thinking about. I couldn’t concentrate on anything other than how attractive the boy looked.

“Want to watch a movie or something?” Luke asked, releasing his lip from his teeth, and snapping me out of my trance.

“What?” I asked, originally not listening to him.

“A movie?” He repeated.

“Uh, sure. What do you want to watch?”

Luke nudged me, signaling to move a bit so he could get up. I did, but was slightly disappointed because he was so comfortable. I pouted, and Luke glance down at my lips, a smile spreading on his face, and turned around walking towards the TV in the room.

The room was very simple, yet lovely. It was cream like most of the rooms in the house, with a nice, plush queen sized bed covered in cloud like pillows and a light champagne colored bed spread. The curtains were light pink, and a fluffy white rug covered some of the floor. To my rights was a small set of chestnut wood draws with a lamp and an alarm clock on it. And across from me was a nicely sized closet, now filled with my new clothes.

Luke squatted down in front of the cabinet the TV rested on, and opened it, revealing a small DVD and CD collection. He studied the films, selecting three of them and came back over to the bed.

Luke spread the choices out and set on the edge of the bed, “Which one do you want to watch, you pick.”

The selections were The Breakfast Club, Mean Girls, and, The Notebook.

“I’m surprised you even suggested The Notebook, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was your favorite, you’re such a girl, Luke.” I laughed, he scrunched up his nose, shaking his head, but also chuckled.

“No, actually it’s this one.” He said, pointing at Mean Girls.

“Have you seen The Breakfast Club before?”

He shook his head. So I chose that one.

Luke took the DVDs, putting away the other two, and inserting the chosen movie into the DVD player. Once it started playing, Luke climbed back into the bed, snuggling under the covers and getting back into our original position. I sighed in content, feeling comfortable again.

I hummed along to Simple Minds’ “Don’t You” as the closing credits rolled by. I love this movie; it’s been my favorite ever since my sister forced me to watch it when I was twelve.

“This song is iconic.” I muttered to myself, not even realizing I said it out loud.

“Yeah, it’s a good song. Every time I hear it, someone brings up this movie.” Luke agreed.

“Well you understand it now.” Luke nodded, “Well, did you like it at least?”

“Yeah, especially the part where Brian gets high, that part was hilarious, my favorite part!” Luke chuckled to himself, running a hand through his hair, trying to fix it even though it was already perfect.

“That’s my favorite part too!” I exclaimed excitedly, a grin plastered on my face. I looked up at Luke, and he was smiling too. We didn’t say anything for a while; we kind of just sat here admiring each other. That’s all.
