Legends say that those who climb the mountain never return.

I didn't believe in the myths. I ignored the warnings. Monsters didn't exist. The war wasn't real. I was determined to prove it.

Going against everything everyone ever told me, I hiked Mount Ebott. Finally, when I reached the top, a gaping hole stood before me. I carefully walked closer, but I wasn't careful enough. I peered down into the dark depths of the cavern, but my foot snagged a vine, and down I tumbled. It felt like I fell forever, the air rushing by me, gravity plummeting me to my death. All at once, I reached the bottom, and only for a second was I in agony until I blacked out.
