Nakamura Rio had always been the prankster of class 3E. She had a reputation to uphold, a status.

That was a given; until Karma Akabane showed up. The infamous, red-haired competitor for top spot. He smirked at every possible moment and would do anything to avoid his weak spots being spotted.

Somewhere along the way, the two became best friends. Or, more like it, partners in crime. Karma, the evil mastermind, and Nakamura, the she-devil who was never caught.

Karma found the blond-haired, blue eyed she-devil growing on him slowly, and he didn't like it. Not one bit. He had his friends, but they kept their distance. Nakamura was...

She was close, and he didn't mind, even if he was scared.

Nakamura found Karma's personality affecting her. She smiled more, she pulled more pranks, she was just... happier, overall. She, too, didn't mind him being the only one close to her.

One day, when they were on the island rented out by Kunugigaoka, korosensei decided it would be a good idea to do a test of courage.

The pairs were:

Nagisa and Kayano

Sugino and Kanzaki

Isogai and Megu

Chiba and Hayami

Maehara and Okuda

Karma and Nakamura

(And a few others)

Before they knew it, Karma and Nakamura were the only ones left on the beach. Everyone else had gone in.

Karma sighed, turning away from Nakamura. His face was unusually hot, and he didn't want her to see, for some reason.

"Look!" Nakamura tapped him on the shoulder, pointing out to the sea. "The sun's setting!"

Karma turned to see the utter delight on Nakamura's face. It really was beautiful; a mix of pinks, oranges, yellows... everyhting thy could ever hope for. Nakamura was grinning like he had never seen before, and she seemed to glow with the sunlight hitting her skin like that.

He gulped.

Korosensei showed up, making them spring apart. "We're ready." He said, laughing. Karma went a slightly deeper shade of red as he took Nakamura's hand and led them in.

The first part was easy; there were a couple of bugs they had to get past. Karma walked over them with ease, as did Nakamura.

The second part was korosensei telling 'ghost' stories from somehere they couldn't see. Nakamura stifled her giggles as she recorded the whole thing on her phone.

The third part was an incredibly creepy, dusty stone statue of an angel. Its head was bowed, and its hands were pressed together in worship. Its eyes were open, though, and looking down, as if it were scared.

Nakamura wasn't going to lie. She was creeped out by that statue. But nobody had to know that, right?

"Nakamura?" Karma asked, shining his flashlight into her eyes. "You're face is turning white. Are you okay?"

"Y-yeah! O-of course I'm f-fine!" She said, laughing nervously. Karma rolled his eyes.

"Come here." He slung an arm around her neck, covering her eyes. "Everyone's scared of something. Why didn't you say so?"

Not being able to see made things a lot easier for Nakamura. Karma guided her through the tunnels, and they emerged, with Karma's arm still linked around her neck. She had subconsciously moved both her arms to wrap around his waist, so it looked like they were side-hugging each other.

Maehara wold whistled, and Kanzaki winked, whilst Hayami smiled. Nakamura went bright red, and Karma's face was already the shade of his hair as he caught Nagisa giving him a thumbs up, as well as Sugino shooting him a knowing look.

They all walked back to the hotel, Nakamura and Karma not letting go once. It was like, if they did, everything would be knocked out of place, and this trance would end.

But they finally reached the point where they had to split from the girls and the boys dorms. Nakamura reluctantly let go first, and Karma followed.

"U-uhm... thatnks. Yu know, for back there." Nakamura avoided his eyes, looking at the interesting patterns of his shoes.

"N-no problem." Karma studied the wallpaper.

They both turned on their heel and went into their rooms, both secretly smiling.

Nakamura was greeted with eleven knowing smiles. "What?" She asked them, blushing even harder.

Kayano laughed. "Nakamura, you've got it bad." The others nodded in agreement.

"W-what? I don't know what y-you're talking about." She denied.

"You. Like. Karma. Ring a bell?" Megu winked.

Meanwhile, Karma was met with all the guys lauging about something. "What's up?" He asked.

"Nakamura took a recording of korosensei's story. Listen." Nagisa ahnded his phone over. Karma reacted to even Nakamura's name.

But that was forgotten when they heard the echoing voice of korosensei telling the worst ghost story known to mankind. They laughed hard, and even the girls heard them.

"I wonder what's going on?" Kanzaki said, thinking of a certain baseball geek.

"Why don't we check?" Hayami said.

They all nodded, deciding to go and check it out.

Okuda was first to knock. Maehara opened the door.

"Oh, hey. What's up?" He asked.

"Why are you laughing so loud? We can hear you from our room." Megu half complained.

"Sorry, we were just listening to Nakamura's recording of korosensei's story." Isogai came t the door, smiling.

"Y-yeah." Sugino smiled awkwardly. Kanzaki giggled.

"Okay, then we'll be going no-" Nakamura turned to leave, but was stopped by someone holding her wrist.

"Can we... talk?" Karma asked her. She nodded.

They walked outside, where it was completely dark. Moonlit streets, and a sky full of stars.

"I need to tell you something." They both said at the came time.

"Me too. You go first." They chorused. "Stop copying me!"

"Fine. I'll go first." Karma said, his cheeks tinging pink. "Nakamura... I like you. I've actually liked you for a while now."

Nakamura's aw promptly hit the ground and began to roll away. Karma took in her shocked expression, beginning to take it as a 'I don't like you that way' kind of thing.

"I... I like you too." She managed to squeak out. Karma smiled. Not a smirk, or a 'I know what you did' smile, a real, genuine smile.

And nobody knows who leant into who, but their lips were together, and they were both happy.

Until they heard the snap of a certain yellow, tentacled octopus's camera.
