Cassidy looked around at platform 9 3/4. There were many witches and wizards walking around, the whole place bustling with excitement. Cassidy gasped as somebody performed a spell at the station. Cassidy realized she needed to get onto the Hogwarts Express, as a large crowd of wizards pushed her forward. Cassidy's long, brown hair was frazzled as she emerged from the crowd.
She hopped onto the train, immediately hearing other eleven year olds going crazy. She quickly walked down the aisle, looking for a compartment. She saw an almost empty compartment, with only a single girl in it. She had bushy brown hair, and brown eyes.
There was a man in the corner, obviously sleeping.
"May I sit here?" Cassidy asks politely. The other girl nodded at Cassidy. She put her suitcase in the compartment above her, and sat down in front of the bushy haired girl. The girl extended her hand. Cassidy took it.
"I'm Hermione Granger. And you are?" Hermione says, trying to make conversation. Cassidy sighed in relief, glad that Hermione was nice.
"I'm Cassidy Faye. Nice to meet you!" Cassidy states, already liking this girl.
"I am waiting for two people, so I do hope you don't mind if I'm a little quiet." Hermione says optimistically. Cassidy blushes in embarrassment.
"I don't mind," Cassdiy mumbles. Hermione doesn't seem to hear her.
"So, if you don't mind me asking, how old are you?" Hermione inquired after a moment, making Cassidy smile.
"Oh, I'm thirteen. Are you, too?" She asked, earning a nod from Hermione. "Doesn't that mean that we'll be in the same year?"
A young, black haired boy, with green eyes and glasses walked in, accompanied by a ginger.
"Are you sure we're not related?" The boy with red hair said to me. "We both have freckles all over our face."
My freckles were not something I was proud of. They made me feel insecure, due to the fact that people called her adopted. Her parents had black hair and no freckles, yet she was quite opposite, with light brown hair and freckles splattered all over her face.
"Um, I'm guessing that we're not," I say, crossing my legs.
"I'm Ron, and this is Harry," Ron pipes up, nodding towards the raven haired boy. Harry looks at his feet.
"Wait, Harry as in Harry Potter?" I ask. Harry nods. "My parents know about you." I say, raising an eyebrow. They tended to talk badly about him, saying he was nothing but trouble. I doubt I should be hanging out with him, but nonetheless, lean in.
"Nice to meet you," Harry says awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Nice to meet you, too," I say, looking away. Something about this boy wasn't right. He seemed quite quiet for what my parents said. 'Loud boy, always causing chaos and ruckus,' they said, waving a finger in front of her face. 'Don't hang out with that misfit.'
I didn't trust my parents words at all. "Do you mind me asking if everything people say you've done is...true?" I asked, trying not to sound nosy.
Harry gave a small nod, while Ron straightened his posture. "Well, of course he has!" Harry sent him a look I couldn't dechiper. "Well, with our help, of course," he said, gesturing to Hermione with his left hand.
Hermione shook her head, offering me a small smile, which I returned.
So far, I had liked this bunch of people, the only three I had talked to since I got on the train.
I stood up and pushed my luggage into the overhead tray, giving a final heave to keep it from falling off of the edge.
I sat back down, leaning my head back and listened to the three chat quietly, closing my eyes.
