the future unknown

LORAINE HAD NEVER FELT SO DESPERATE in her entire life, that the only thing she could do was scream.

The whole field was littered with corpses: Asgardians, warriors, and craters that were formed from bombs blasting every minute. At the side, near a cliff, stood a whole lot of archers making a volley of arrows from time to time. Swords and metal clashing one another with the bellow of anger echoed the desert. It reeked with the smell of rust and old soil whilst the wind had gotten damper and thicker with death. There was a balcony about twenty-five feet tall, made of metal, that stood and signified their borderline from the enemy.

But she wasn't at their line.

Dragged away by someone, she tried to claw the face of the monster that placed her in its shoulder, taking her away simply like a doll.  When it did not react, Loraine's hand trembled to grab the dagger from the sheath on her leg. She winced as she tried to ignore the oozing pain that barrelled inside her mind. Then when she finally had it, she jabbed it at the monster and tried to summon a Crown---her magic.

But to her disbelief, it didn't budge.

The creature hissed at its wound but it didn't show any more pain besides that. Then it tinkered something from its pockets and took out chains so golden its shade melted like the sun. Loraine knew what was about to come, but its grip was too strong she could only yet again, scream. Her magic was nowhere to be found. In a horrific way, she couldn't so much as feel it. Why?

The monster triumphantly shackled her wrists, and at that precise moment, she could feel her body dozing off, her senses trickling away from her grasps.

Again, she tried for another scream---but this time, it was within her thoughts, the last piece of her magic---soft and simple, and it bore a name. It was the name of someone whom she hoped could rescue her, a friend, a dear one.

She closed her eyes, thoughts echoing, and let her consciousness travel to her beloved.

Loki, save me.
