Why is having tattoos so bad?
All the justifications I hear are the same damn ones, over and over.
"Tattoos are bad for your health!"
"You'll get a disease!"
Or
"Marking your body is a sin!"
"Only criminals would do such an atrocity!!"
And my mum's personal favourite:
"They look ugly, just look, what is that?"
Quite frankly I'm getting sick and tired of the same comments. All we ever fucking do is judge those that don't suit our beliefs.
Being one that appreciates art, I obviously am a fan of most tattoos. I see nothing wrong with them, nor the skin they're marked on.
When we see a person with tattoos, we haven't even met them and we're already scrutinising them, insulting them. Our perception is that they're rude, rotten, uneducated individuals, when in reality, we're not even certain.
First off, you have to look at their tattoos. If you see something of worth, symbolic, then they're no cretin; no imbecile. They have put something of value on their skin to display their person within, an image that shows their way of thinking, so they then don't have to explain themselves.
Now I'm not saying to agree with me. I'm only one voice. I'm not saying to go get a tattoo or like them because I said so. I'm just saying that we shouldn't label someone, just because their image is irrelevant to yours.
