Attention Seeking

As soon as class started, Erza felt like she was a being boiled alive. She was inbetween Jellal and Simon's death glare contest. Although, Simon was not directly beside her since the desks were split into columns of two with an aisle inbetween.

"Hey Erza, can you explain this to me?" Jellal asked, pointing to a page in his textbook, sending a smug smirk in Simon's direction. It was a page on legends from the past. The particular story Jellal pointed at was one about mythical creatures.

"Why this page?" Erza questioned. "You realize we're supposed to be reading about the Edolas war, right?"

"I'm just curious," Jellal shrugged.

Sighing, Erza began to read through the contents of the page.

"Mythical creatures (this includes dragons, vampires, unicorns, and fairies) are creatures created from myths and folklore. People believe many of these some-what spiritual beings are able to control supernantural powers. It was often said they hide as humans in society to keep order," she shrugged. "Wait, couldn't you just read it yourself?"

"Well, I suppose I could have," he chuckled. "But, I enjoy you reading it to me. Anyways, what do you think?"

His face got closer to hers, so their noses were almost touching. "W-well," Erza squeaked. "I'm not sure."

"Do you believe that they exsist?"

The approximation between them was making her feel dizzy. "U-uh well-"

"SIEGERAIN FERNANDES AND ERZA SCARLET!" Ms.Carla yelled. "STOP FLIRTING, START READING!"

Erza felt all her classmates eyes on her, and she began to blush even more. What was even worse was that Simon was among them.

Jellal, on the other hand, was smirking. He wrapped his arm around the back of Erza's chair and sent a smirk in his rival's direction.

Simon growled back.

When Erza realized what he was doing, she pushed his arm off her chair. He took this as a sign to wrap his arm around her shoulders instead, and Erza's stomach was suddenly full of butterflies.

"What did you get for the first reading question?" He asked, peeking at her work.

Erza suddenly felt self concious and covered it with her hands. "I got M-Mystogan," she weakly replied.

"Really? But I thought Erza Knightwalker stopped the invasion," he frowned, glancing at his own paper.

"N-no, it was the prince who defeated all of the demonic spirits."

"Oh," he sighed, scribbling his answer out and rewriting it. "What did you get for the next one?"

"Are you just going to copy my answers?"

"Maybe," he smirked, and swiped away her paper.

"W-wait!" Erza gasped, and tried to take it back. However, Jellal already had it tightly clasped in his hands.

And as soon as he looked at the paper, he began to laugh. Erza had scribbled all over it, and not just with random doodles, but the pattern of his facial tattoo.

"Were you drawing my tattoo this entire class?" He whispered light heartedly.

Erza only blushed and glanced away. She had been so curious about his tattoo that she had subconciously doodled it all over her paper.

Jellal leaned over and kissed her on the cheek, making sure to keep his eyes on Simon. "I think it's cute," he chuckled.

Retreating his arm and sitting back in his seat, he began copying off of the answers she had finished. Erza sat with her head down, her cheeks still warm from his touch.

Although Erza hated to admit it, she liked being around him, and the loss of his arm made her a little disappointed.

She sneaked a glance at his face to see him significantly paler and frozen in his spot. Confused, Erza followed his eyes over towards the window, and almost screamed when she saw that Siegrain was standing there. He was crossing his arms, glaring at them disapprovingly.

When class ended, Erza collected her books as quickly as she could. She was scared of what would happen if she was left in a classroom with Simon and Jellal, or even worse, Siegrain as well. As soon as she exited the door, relief washed over her like a cool shower.

"Hey, Erza!" Lucy called from across the hallway.

"Lucy!" Said person smiled. Levy and Mira were with her as well.

"Hey, Erza!" Mira and Levy greeted.

"Hey guys," Erza waved.

"So, I heard there was some sort of fight in first block..." Mira trailed off thoughtfully.

Erza sighed and rolled her eyes. "I guess I have to tell you?"

Mira shook her head vigorously. "With lots of details."

"Well, Mr.Happy assigned us partners for some fish project, and I ended up with Ichiya. Simon knew I was uncomfortable with him, so he just told him to back off."

Mira began squealing while the other girls giggled. Juvia joined them as well, and by the way steam was coming out of her ears, everybody could guess was fantasizing.

Erza didn't include the part about Siegrain because she knew the girls would start asking for more details.

"So, Simon actually fought with Ichiya to protect you?" Mira questioned.

"No, I wouldn't say he fought, I would say he just stood up-"

"He fought for you! How sweet!" Mira squealed.

Lucy narrowed her eyes suspiciously at Erza and glanced at Levy.

"You know, we heard Siegrain got involved as well," Levy added.

Erza stopped walking out of shock and began laughing uneasily. "What? H-he never got involved. I bet it's just some silly rumor."

Mira crossed her arms. "Erza, tell me what actually happened."

"I told you what happened, Sim-"

"Erza, we need to talk." A new voice entered their conversation, and it took Erza a few minutes to realize it was Siegrain.

"S-Siegrain!" Erza squeaked. This most definitely wasn't good.

Mira and the others raised their eyebrows in interest. "See you at the dorm then!" Lucy giggled. Mira sent her a tell-me-everything-as-soon-as-you-get-back grin.

As soon as her friends were out of sight Siegrain grabbed Erza by the wrist and dragged her into the nearby woods. When they were secluded enough, he pushed her against a tree.

"Keep away from my brother, you hear me?" He hissed.

"W-what do you mean?" Erza's eyes widened. "You can't just tell me who not to be with!"

"I knew it. I KNEW IT WOULD COME TO THIS!" He yelled frustratedly. "I knew you would fall in love with him, and I knew he would fall in love with you! A normal human being!"

Erza stared up at him in shock. "W-what are you even talking about? I don't like him!" She defended, a blush forming on her cheeks.

That was when Siegrain rolled his eyes and leaned in closer, trapping her between his arms.

"S-Siegrain, what are y-"

He pressed his lips firmly against hers and Erza could do nothing but widen her eyes.
