"Erza, I'm a unicorn," Jellal sighed.

"WHAT?" Erza gasped. "How can you- I thought you were- WHAT?"

Jellal chuckled at her reaction and nodded his head.

"When Siegrain and I were children, we were part of the most noble unicorn population. The Fernandes'. Our father was the leader of this unicorn group," Jellal pointed at his facial tattoo. "This is the clan symbol."

Siegrain sighed, "However, we were born as twins, which upset our parents very much."

"Why is that a bad thing?" Erza asked.

"The first born was destined to take on as clan leader due to the fact that the first child takes on the most magical energy from their parents. However, because we were twins, our parents were unsure which to make the leader. When unicorns are born as twins, only one gains unicorn abilities. The other is born powerless."

"Due to the confusion, our parents imprinted the clan symbol on both of us, deciding to wait and see which one of us gained the abilities."

"However," Siegrain sighed. "I... began to realise that I was the one who was powerless. I did not show symptoms of magic what-so-ever. And then..." Siegrain trailed off and looked at the lake water.

"And then what?"

"Well, I met a woman named Ultear. She promised me magical abilities if I were to lead her to our clan's base. I was foolish and at the time. Unknowing I was about to lead a gang of vampires to our camp. I learned later that throughout vampire history, unicorn blood is considered the most rich and valuable."

"I was attacked by one of them," Jellal pointed to the bite mark on his neck. "That's how I got this."

Erza just nodded her head with the amount of information they were throwing at her.

"After getting bit, Jellal unlocked his abilities because he was in a life or death situation, turning into his true form." Siegrain explained.

"Wait, true form?"

"You know, like how a unicorn looks?" Siegrain explained. "In unicorn clans, we live as normal humans. Turning into a unicorn impacts the environment greatly and requires a lot of magical energy. It is also a great way to disguise ourselves if a human walks into our clan."

"Oh," Erza deadpanned.

"That's why I asked you to stop Jellal," Siegrain pointed towards the woods. "You saw the dead plants didn't you? That was the effect of his negative energy in his human form. Imagine what kind of damage he could do in unicorn form."

Erza stood stunned. Everything was piecing together so quickly, it was taking her time to process everything.

Jellal was a unicorn, he has lots of magical potential, and... Siegrain is always grumpy.

"Anyways, after we escaped and I managed to calm Jellal down, we ended up here at Fairy Tail Academy. Your principle, Makarov, allowed me to enroll in the school," Siegrain shrugged. "Jellal wasn't permitted though, Makarov feared his magic would get out of hand."

"W-wow" Erza stuttered, unsure how to reply to everything.

"Crazy, right?" Jellal smirked.

"Wait," Erza crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes. "Then why did you just randomly kiss me?"

"Oh, that," Jellal laughed sheepishly. "Unicorns feed on negative thoughts, that's our way of spreading happiness."

"So, you kissed me because I was grumpy?"

"Uh, well-" Jellal hesitated.

"Yeah, pretty much," Siegrain finished.

"Well," Erza sighed. "That's a lot of information to take in."

Jellal chuckled. "We can talk more tomorrow," he smiled.

"Let's get you back to your dorm," Siegrain chimed in. "I will escort you back."

"We," Jellal corrected, "will escort you back."

Siegrain rolled his eyes. "Overprotective boyfriends," he murmured under his breath.
