Every Beatles fan HAS to watch this. It's so great omg.
I'm American, so I watched it on Hulu, and it's just absolutely phenomenal.
Ron Howard did such an amazing job with this documentary; it's just so fantastic!!
Wow, I've still got all this excitement from watching it...

Okay, now that I've calmed down a bit (many hours later), I want to tell you a bit about the film. It's exactly what the title says: the touring years. But what's so great about this film is it really shows what it was like for them, and what influenced what they did with their music and why their music and performances were so important.
In the US, for example: President Kennedy was assassinated in Nov. 1963. It was only a few months later that The Beatles' music would explode into the country; a break from the craziness concerning the leader of our country.
In the 60s, discrimination and segregation of colored people from non-colored was still prevalent. When The Beatles were asked about it, they simply said what any reasonable human being with feeling and morals would say. It's wrong. Paul voices that he didn't understand why it had to be happening. We are all people. Ringo talks about how they are playing for everyone, regardless of race. So they wouldn't play for segregated crowds. And that was a big deal.
Being at a Beatles concert meant you could buy whatever seats you'd like. You could be a girl of color, and be surrounded by white girls. But no one cared, because they were all there for the same reason, and that was enough.
There is a lot of history involved in the film, and it was very informational, but not in a boring way.
It was the kind of documentary that gives you chills, makes you cry, and laugh, and smile.
It was a well put together and I really enjoyed it, very very much!
So, if you haven't watched it, I really recommend it. It's absolutely incredible.
