"C'mon Lori! it's gonna be amazing!" I was sat opposite Cherry at my dining room table. Cherry was staring at me with her bottom lip stuck out and her eyes as wide as she could get them. I chuckled at my pleading friend. "Ugh fine" I finally agreed.
Cherry sat up straight in the the brown leather chair, clapping her dainty hands together excitedly.
So it was settled, I was going with her, Marcia, Randy and Bob to the drive in movie theatre this evening.
"Is Michael coming?" Cherry asked, referring to my boyfriend.
"No, he's in New York with his parents" I responded.
Cherry giggled, "well, you can share my popcorn" she said giggling. "hey you gotta get ready" Cherry said pulling up the sleeve of her sky blue blouse to check her silver wristwatch. I sighed and jogged up the stairs to my room.
I decided on a white blouse and a denim skirt. I walked over to my door and slipped on some brown brogues. I left my long brown hair loose and wavy.
I could hear Cherry calling me from downstairs. So I quickly picked up my brown bag and raced down the marble stairs of my home.
Cherry was waiting at the front door.
"Finally, the guys are already here"
said Cherry tutting at me.
I smiled at her and walked out of the door that she was now holding open.
Bob was sitting in his Mustang that was parked in my driveway. I know mum wouldn't approve, but she was still at work. Randy was sitting next to Bob in the red car with his feet up on the at the windscreen, and Marcia was sitting patiently in the back.
Cherry and I hurried over to the car and I pulled open he door.
Marcia smiled at me and Cherry as she scooted over in her seat so we could fit in the back of the small car.
"Golly, finally Cherry, what took you so long?" Said Bob putting his keys in the ignition and starting up the car.
Cherry huffed at Bob's impatience and turned to look out of the window.
I mentally chuckled at Cherry. Typical Cherry Valance.
Soon enough, we arrived at the drive in. Bob parked his Mustang in amongst all the other cars.
It was really busy today, there was girls in skirts and guys in madras all perched on top of cars all around us, waiting for the film to start.
Bob pulled the keys out, stopping the noisy car.
To my surprise, Cherry opened the car door and stepped out onto the dry grass, smoothing her skirt out as she did so.
