Blue
Ricky and I found Pig hiding in a classroom, with Gum.
Yes, Gum.
Angry face.
Straight away I stormed up to my friend.
“Hi. What the hell are you doing?”
“Um, hiding from the crazy stampede, what are you doing?” I saw Gum double take when he look at me, surprised I’m alive probably.
“Questioning your good judgment.”
“It’s not like I wanted to be here with Mr Physco, I was just trying not to be squashed.” I glared at Ricky.
“This is all your fault.” He rolled his eyes.
“Be grateful women!” It seemed that Pig only noticed that Ricky was in the room.
“Who are you?” She very rudely asked.
“Ricky. You must be Pig.” Pig looked extremely freaked out.
“Uh, how do you know who I am?” Silently, I begged Ricky not to look at me. He did.
Mental begging does not work.
“What the hell, Blue? Who is this?” I nervously played with my nails.
“Um, it’s Ricky.” Ricky put a 300 watt smile on. Pig still wasn’t impressed.
“What? Blue? What is going on?” Pig’s tone was demanding, harsh and unforgiving and very, very mean.
“I’m- we’re- rescuing you” I tried to shake off how much I sounded like Ricky.
“Rescuing me?” Pig asked, incredulous. “You call blowing up the entire orphanage a rescue?”
“It was only the entrance.” Ricky muttered in self-defence.
“You’ve got to be kidding me Pig,” I told her, ignoring Ricky. “This is a once in a life time chance here, and you’re ridiculing it?”
“Well sorry Blue, if I’m only thinking logically!”
“Logically?” I asked, my voice getting shrill, “Do you call acting like a complete ass hole, logic?”
“I’m not being an ass hole!” Pig cried her tone competing with mine, “You’re being an idiot.”
“I’m the idiot?” I asked, dimly aware of how immature I sounded, “You’re the one who got us into the Gum situation!”
“YOU’RE THE ONE WHO GOT US INTO THIS SITUATION!” Pig’s voice was loud and sharp. I just looked at her, trying to see some of my friend in her eyes. I felt a hand on my shoulder.
“Come on, Blue. Let’s go” For once, Ricky’s voice wasn’t arrogant or cocky just…Ricky. I turned to leave but was stopped by the sound of Pig’s voice.
“You’re leaving with him?” She asked, “Why don’t you stay here, with me?”
“One difference between you and him, honey” Pig raised an eyebrow. “I trust him. I don’t trust you.”
And with that I walked out the door.

Ricky
After the awkward run in with her friend, Blue was silent. Feeling, restless, I asked the question I’d been dying to ask.
“Did you really mean that you trusted me?” Blue swiftly turned around, seeming to enjoy the fact that there were no people around to squash us.
“You’re here aren’t you?”
“What is that meant to mean?” Blue sighed impatiently.
“It means that you kept your word. Not a lot of people do that anymore.” I smiled.
“I also saved your life.”
“Shut up.”
“No, but seriously, I did.”
“No, but seriously, shut up.” I smirked.
We walked the rest of the way in silence. Not in thick, heavy silence but in thinking silence. Both of our minds whirring over the day’s events. There was a lot to go over. I couldn’t help but cringe at the lack of population in Sister Goliath’s. Where did everyone go? Did they hide like Pig and, erm whatshisname? Gum. His name was Gum. The Gum situation. What Gum situation?
“You said the ‘Gum situation’,” I told Blue, “What Gum situation?”
“Nothing.” Blue told me swiftly, I raised an eyebrow. Blue let out an exasperated sigh. “Another day, ok?”
“Sure. Whatever. Lie to me, I don’t care.” She didn’t say anything. Just walked on, staring straight ahead. I kept pace with her, right until we were near the entrance, in which she broke out into a run, her grey skirt was fluttering and her shiny black shoes echoed her footsteps.
“Free!” She cried out, “I’m so, totally free!”

Despite the clichéd words coming out of my mouth, I laughed. The entrance was almost unrecognisable; it was just a massive pile of ruins. There were people sitting on the mess of brick and stone, they didn’t react to mine and Ricky’s footsteps coming behind them. As I got closer I saw a sheet of purple hair. Montana? From before?
“Yo.” Ricky said as he walked up hands in his pockets, “Look who I found.” Suddenly, all three of them turned to look at me. Montana grinned.
“Hey, Blue. Nice to actually meet you in person this time.” I started to mumble a thank you but was interrupted by a strict voice.
“Took you long enough. Actually, it took you too long; all you had to do was grab her from the crowd.” The voice belonged to a tall guy who looked a little older than Ricky. He had dark brown hair that hung loose and dark eyes to match.
“All I had to do, Stephan? Really?”
“Really.” The dark haired boy, who must be Stephan, replied.
“Um, hello?” A girl with short blonde hair interrupted, “Sitting outside the place we just broke into after we blew the door to smithereens, might want to get moving now.” With a nod, Ricky took my arm. “We can do introductions later.” He whispered to me as the others stood up, dusting dirt from their clothes. Slowly, they started to navigate through bits of rubble until they reached a navy van with tinted windows.
That’s never a good sign.
To preoccupied to worry about the paedophile van, my thoughts were stuck on how they managed to pull the break in off. Surely the surveillance must have spotted them by now. If not ,wow, we have really dodgy guards.
Stephan slid open the door on the van, and Montana and the blonde girl stepped in. Ricky followed, and after a moment of hesitation, so did I. Despite the bland outside of the van, the inside was covered in bumper stickers. With very colourful language.
Ricky buckled up and motioned for me to a seat next to him. I saw him sitting next to a window.
“Err…” Ricky looked up at me.
“What?”
“Can I sit near the window?” Confusion clouded his eyes only to be replaced with the familiar glimmer of humour.
“Sure, if you want. But it’s not much of a view.” I grinned at him, ear to ear.
“I haven’t been outside the walls of Sister Goliaths ever, I’m pretty sure the views gonna be pretty damn amazing.”
