Blue

In two days, I would be taken down under the school. There, they would proceed to do whatever the punishment is. All I know is that I will never be seen again. I wanted to scream, shout at the world, but no one was listening. I was stuck in a crappy orphanage with the word of some boy to get me out.

Ricky.

It had been a day since he told me that he’d get me out. A day in which he asked me to trust him. I felt a rock hit the bottom of my stomach. As much as I wanted to trust him I couldn’t. He appeared from a mirror for goodness sakes. I can’t let myself rely on him to help me escape- - because escaping was really the only option. I have two days to get myself out of here. But how? This place is unescapable, guards, electric fences; all kinds of things were keeping every single person without clearance cannot get out of here. Does that still mean people can’t get in?  I was pacing around the sheltered, guarded court yard. Morning classes were due to begin. People were hurrying to the classroom of their destination as to avoid being late. I didn’t bother moving. I was getting the punishment in just days, what else could I do wrong? I took a seat on a mouldy wooden bench, and watched as the last students/orphans made their way to class. The overcast sky seemed fit to my mood, everything I looked at was of a grey hue, and it wasn’t helping my mood. I curled a strand of hair around my finger, its inky blackness contrasting to my pale skin. I let my hair uncurl and bounce back.

“Blue?”

I jumped. The voice was familiar, cocky and arrogant.

Ahh shit.

It’s Gum.

I spun swiftly on my heels, only barely managing to do so without tripping. He looked pretty much the same. His bright eyes barley containing the monster underneath. “What,” I asked, my voice impatient, “do you want? And why aren’t you in class?”

“Why aren’t you?” His dug his hands in the pockets of his dark grey pants and raised a questioning eyebrow.

“Because,” I said bitterly, “I don’t have to be. Now answer my question”

“Same as you.”

“You cannot just reword everything I say. I’ve had enough of this shit. I do not need anymore.” When you’re going to die you have a surprising amount of courage.

And very little patience.

“Don’t worry, Blue. I’m not going to hurt you; hell I’m not even going to torment you.  I’m just here to welcome you.” The way he said it sent shivers up my spine.

“What?” He said welcome. That made absolutely no sense.

“You’ve joined the club, Blue. In two days, you’ll become one of us.”

“One of you? What does that mean?” He grinned at me.

“You’ll find out in two days.” And with that he walked off, leaving me staring after his back.

Oh, great. Yet another riddle.

Stephan and Paige were seated on the two-seater, waiting for us. If I was going to break Blue out I needed help. Montana and I were good, but Stephan and Paige would be excellent to have on hand. Montana had run a search of Sister Goliath’s online. At first with no results. Blue’s orphanage was smart. Montana Net. As it turns out, could not find the official website the orphanage has set up. Google 2.0 however had no trouble in showing us, leaving Montana very pissed. The website proved to be very useful. It has a brief overview of history, profiles on students, and, with some careful hacking, the blueprint of the building. All extremely handy. Now, all Montana and I had to do was brief the others on our mission. I met up with Montana in the kitchen. “You ready?” She inquired, excitement rolling off her in waves.
