Blake's P.O.V

I felt my cheeks heat up after reading Klaus' small note on the back of the card. Why was he so kind to me and not to anyone else?

My eyes drifted back to the box. What could possibly be in there?

I loosened the ribbons and lifted the top of the box off.

When my eyes landed on it I gasped. Inside was a stunning dress. (Picture on top) The design reminded me of a porcelain style print.

I pulled it out of the box to take a better look at the dress. This must have cost a fortune. Well, Klaus obviously used compulsion to buy it, but still. He really is trying hard to change my opinion on him.

It's working.

"Please join the Mikaelson family for dancing, cocktails, and celebration?" Damon scoffed as he read the invitation aloud. "What century is this, the 1700's?"

I only showed them the invitation, not the dress. I didn't want Damon to know Klaus gifted me an expensive gown.

"Well, I'm going." I announced. "So, either you can come with me, or Enzo will be my date."

"I like the sound of that." Enzo gave me a smirk.

Damon glared at him. "Fine, I'll go. But if it sucks, which it will, we're leaving. Deal?"

"No, we'll leave when everyone else leaves. We're going to be polite guests. Plus, I've never been to a ball before!" I whined. "Please, Damon?" I gave him my best puppy dog eyes.

With a roll of his eyes, he agreed.

I stared at my reflection in the mirror. The gown fit like a glove and looked really flattering with my blonde hair.

"Woah." I heard Damon say from the doorway. I turned to look at him, a smile plastered on my face.

He was wearing his suit, but held the bow in his hands. He probably needed help putting it on.

"You like it?" I asked as he wrapped his arms around my waist, watching me through the mirror.

"Saying I like it would be an understatement." He stares into my eyes through the mirror. "You look incredible, as always."

I smiled. "Thank you."

"Where did you even get the dress anyways?" He asked, handing me the bow so I could help him put it on.

"Caroline," I lied. Inna swift motion, I tied the bow around his collar. "I still don't understand how you don't know how to tie a bow. You're the man here."

He smirked to himself. "It's much better having you do it than I."

With one arm in Damon's and one arm in Enzo's, we walked into the Mikaelson manor. There were a lot of people here. I recognized many people from school and from other town gatherings.
