"You're amazing babe, I'm starving." Harry grins as I pass him the plate of pancakes and yoghurt. I close my door behind me and sit next to him on the bed, tucking into the food. I catch him staring at me and I laugh nervously. I've never felt this nervous when Zac looks at me. I think Shan is still asleep next door.

"What?" I laugh when he doesn't look away.

"You have yoghurt on your face." He responses, wiping the corner of my mouth for me slowly. I gulp loudly and he removes his hand.

"So, I'm not really sure where to begin, but I know I owe you an explanation because before I left I treated you like shit and pushed you away and that wasn't fair on you." I just nod for him to continue, I have no words right now because I'm terrified, I'm terrified because this big dark secret has been kept quite all this time, it must be serious and I don't know how I'm going to take it.

"Right, well I'm guessing you didn't know I had a little sister?" He says. I shake my head no. "We had a violent dad and a weak mum who couldn't stand up for herself let alone us" he takes a deep breathe before he continues. "When I was 17, and Amy was 10, I walked in on dad violently hitting Amy, she was cowering in the corner and he was hitting her with his fists uncontrollably." A tear rolls down his cheek and I quickly wipe it away gently. I grab his hand and wait patiently for the rest of the story. "I panicked and went to defend Amy but he started hitting me inside, so when I finally managed to get my strength, I picked up the closest thing I could reach for and hit him on the side of the head with it. I didn't realise at the time that it was a metal iron. He fell to the ground and when I checked his pulse he wasn't breathing. When I looked over at Amy she had passed out too. The doctors came and told me and mum they were both dead." He puts his head down in his hands and cries. I've never seen Harry this broken and it hurts so much seeing it.

"Harry, I could never turn my back on you because of that! I really wish you'd have told me sooner." I say, barely above a whisper.

He looks up at me with regret in his eyes. "I left the next day, changed my name and have been on the run since. I couldn't tell anyone, in case they ran to the police, Shan has been trying to protect me from that. Mum turned me in the second she found out they were dead so I had no choice." He shakes his head and stands up abruptly, leaving me sitting on my bed speechless and barely able to breathe.
