The two of us
We dances the same rhythm
But to a beat of our own
You moved with such depth
And I moved with such little
The two of us
We sung the same song
With a meaning all our own
You sang with such intensity
And my voice was never quite that strong
The two of us
We walked the same pathway
But our journeys were all our own
Yours held so many obstacles
And mine didn't seem that long
The two of us
We both looked through jaded eyes
But different eyes saw different skies
And different minds told different lies
Yours told you, you were too strong
And mine—too weak
That one of us lived in the right and the other—the wrong
But, the two of us
So incompletely equal
We belonged
Like the movements in a dance
And the lyrics to a song
Like the journey to a path
And like eternity, we would last
