Chapter Eighteen

Everyone forgets about the small things within life. All they care about is wealth and fame.  All I cared for is the truth behind my magic and the clock.

A warm hand fell on my back causing me to stiffen up.  Turning my head I looked at Natsu who currently was chomping down on some meat. Levy,  Wendy,  and Mira all went out to get some supplies to last us for a bit.  Apparently Levy got word from some of the others,  so instead of finding them they were coming here.  It amazed me Levy had this huge place under her name.  She never remember how she got it only that she woke up here with the title deed in hand.  Makes me worry about the things she could accomplish within this world. 

"Come on Luce.  Put a smile on for me.  We're finally away from white walls" Natsu finally said a smile plastered on his face.  It seems he completely pushed away any bad thoughts that happen.  What's got me more worried is this other side of him.  The more dangerous and scary side that caused my heart to sore. Well either side makes my heart fuzzy in a good way.

"Hey Luce did something happen at the train?  I can't seem to remember much.  Mira said I slept all the way here,  but I feel like something happened" Natsu suddenly said with a low voice. 

"Um.  You really don't remember?" I replied. 

"Well....all I remember is seeing you really.  We we're in this field just running around.  Happy was chasing us as well.  We we're so happy" he said with the biggest goofy grin.

"Sounds like you were dreaming" I chuckled.

"Yet it felt so real" he muttered.

I could feel my cheeks slightly burn after hearing that.  It would be nice to have someone to love in a peaceful happy world,  but this isn't a peaceful world.

"Why is everything going to hell lately.  Magic users are being hunted.  We left a hospital meant for people like us to escape,  and yet I feel like we're the only sane ones and it jummphh" I started to ramble on before warm soft lips we're pressed against mine.

The smell of burning flesh once again enter my nose as I watched horns grow.  Why is he transforming?  WHY IS HE KISSING ME! 

Oh my god.  Natsu was kissing me... Natsu... Natsu..... Was kissing me. My chest seem to contract with this burning sensation before he released me.  Goofy grin was replaced with a devious smirk. 

"N-N-N-atsu" I began stuttering.

"You're cute when you ramble.  I just couldn't help myself.  Just want to spend more time with ya" he stated wrapping one arm around my waist.

"Woah woah you're getting a bit touchy" I stated trying to unwound his arm. 

"You should get use to this.  Don't you feel it Luce?  The sparks of love" he questioned. 

Indeed I felt them from any skin to skin contact. 

"Please... Explain" I stated trying to forget the tingles.

"Seems the demon lady hasn't done her job.  Remember my question from earlier?" He asked. 
Soul mate?

"Yes" I replied to him still attempting to free myself.

"Well you see soul mates is a sacred word.  Pretty much the beginning of life everyone is born with a soul to love.  When someone experience certain exposures you can tell who your soul mate is" he started.

"Exposures?" I questioned. 

"For example it might of been my fault your power went a bit nuts earlier. The strange sensations from skin contacts" he said. 

"So.. Pretty much we're suppose to be together?" I stated a bit oblivious.

"You belong to me and only me.  Anyone who tries to harm you I shall kill" he stated while running his hands through my hair. 

"You know you can't just form a relationship like this.  It takes time, work,  and love" I stated smiling while remembering words my mother use to tell me as a girl.

"Momma what's love?" I giggled.

"Well love is something that can make you very happy or very sad.  To love someone means you cherish them for life.  You want to be with them for life.  Now there a difference between a family love and a person love" she chuckled.

Picking me up she sat me on her lap slowly patting my head.

"Difference?" I asked.

"Well a family love is how I love you baby girl.  I'll always love you no matter what.  Now a person love takes time,  work,  and a different kind of love that makes your heart flutter,  your stomach turn, and your chest to squeeze.  Only you will know when you love someone.  Dont be afraid if you fall in love at first sight. Miracles do happen."

"I'm not patient enough to wait.  This side of me knows what mine,  but my other side is pretty dense.  Try that relationship forming thing with him" he stated annoyed.

"Will you ever be one?" I asked curious.

"Ah my love that's something that can never happen.  If it ever did we would be driven to insanity and end up destroying everything.  It's better this way" he sighed.

"Is this your secret?" I asked.

"Maybe" he replied.

I dunno how to accept any of this,  but it just seemed right.
