Part Two

Double Attack

The Urahara-Shihoin Residence was in a frenzy as Chad, Orihime and Tatsuki laid unconscious in the room of recovery. Tessai, Ururu and Jinta were in the process of healing their friends. The enemy knew that there was a guard group in Karakura too leaving it vulnerable to any attack the enemy may be planning. All three of them had inhaled the fine pieces of ash by accident and began being torn apart from the inside.

"Orihime!" Chad called out to Orihime frightened when he turned and watched his friend fall to the ground coughing hysterically; spots of blood spraying onto the floor before her. Tatsuki tried getting herself up through the pain and ultimately failed at this attempt and she collapsed onto the ground again. She felt paralyzed overall, she felt Chad pick her up and toss her over her shoulder and then Orihime over the other.

Chad was not going to let his friends die. He began coughing and the blood poured like a waterfall from his mouth and the ash that was slowly beginning to fade was cutting into his skin like blades. He pushed on and looked up to see the giggling faces of what looked like black masses shaped into figures with piercing white eyes without any pupil. A sense of terror washed over him but he was not going to give up.

It put them in a death like coma and Ichigo was tearing himself up about it since he wasn't there to help; he was out stopping hollows from destroying the town.

It was when Grimmjow came in beat and cut and carrying a limp Sui-Feng over his shoulder and placed her down on the open space next to Chad when Ichigo really began to panic. Attacking in two places at once? Unless obviously the enemy had reinforcements working for him and personally went after Grimmjow and Sui-Feng; the remaining two captains of the Gotei-13. Grimmjow didn't see anybody when the attack happened, he was blinded from the start as a whirlwind of ash surrounded him and tore open his eyes and covered him in multiple cuts.

Yoruichi attended to Sui-Feng and Ururu took Grimmjow's hand lightly and tugged at it. Grimmjow couldn't believe he was putting his trust into a child but he went on with it and let Ururu lead him. He had been in this place long enough to know that she was leading him to the hot springs. Possibly his favorite healing method of all time. "I promise I won't look." Ururu said and let go of his hand. Grimmjow would have rolled his eyes at this if he could but that was not an option. Ururu turned away and waited about a minute and a half before turning around to see him in the hot spring already. She was secretly relieved; she was not ready for that.

"I'm sorry if this hurts." Ururu said softly and she began cleaning the blood of his face with a clean cloth. "I've been through worse..." Grimmjow mumbled and sat back. After successfully disinfecting and cleaning his face, she wrapped his eyes in a clean bandage and hoped that would suffice.

12:33am

The blue 2012 Ducati 848 EVO stopped outside the tall residence, the tall Sakura trees decorated the front lawn with pink petals and gave off a feeling that Mae knew was home. She hesitated before getting off her bike and putting her helmet on the side. Her boots crunched on the soft petals and she felt like she needed to take the lightest steps towards the front door.

When the front door opened, she froze and saw her mother's face staring back at her. Yoruichi's eyes pricked with tears and she ran forward and gave her daughter a hug, "Mae!" Mae felt relieved to be held by her mother again, to see her and to hold her. "Don't you ever leave us again." Yoruichi said sternly. Mae felt a bit scared of her mother but she knew she meant well. "Mae! You're back!" Jinta exclaimed excitedly and ran to the person he thought was just so amazing. Mae gave him a hug and noticed that he had grown taller and had seemed to be a bit more mature. Ichigo come to the front door to see what the scene was about and was shocked to see Mae's green eyes staring back at him.

Yoruichi and Jinta went inside to give them some time and Ichigo walked towards Mae every step became faster until he enveloped her in a hug of relief and love.

"Ichigo..." Mae began as she wrapped her arms around his waist, "I can't thank you enough... I came back as soon as I heard about the attacks." "I'm so glad you're back." Ichigo said. "Good, I'm glad to be back." Mae smiled softly, she pulled away, "Where is everybody?" "The Soul Society's Captains have all fallen Mae, they're doing the best they can to keep it safe. Yamamoto is the only Captain left but we haven't heard of him at all; you're father and Tessai have gone to see him. Tatsuki, Chad and Orihime are in recovery. We don't know when they'll wake up. Last night, Sui-Feng and Grimmjow were attacked, Grimmjow managed to make it but Sui-Feng is in the same state as the others." Ichigo explained. Mae could sense he felt bad and she put a hand on his arm, Ichigo knew Mae long enough to know that it was a gesture of comfort and reassurance.

Mae went inside and Ichigo followed behind her as she went to Orihime and Tatsuki. She was devastated in herself to see her friends in this state and held their hands in hers and closed her eyes to keep her tears from falling, though Ichigo could hear her light whimper. She was disgusted in herself to let her friends get hurt like this; she should have been there. She took hold of her pink zanpakuto and held it up horizontally in her grip and whispered, "Ōkami o iyashimasu."

Ichigo watched as small barely noticeable white ash flakes began spreading out onto his friends. He hadn't noticed any discomfort by the ash pieces and concluded that it must have been some sort of healing method. "It'll take some time to have them fully recovered and I'm not sure if it'll work, but it should help." Mae said and got up. She put her zanpakuto away, Ichigo put a hand on her shoulder and told her, "Hot springs." Mae nodded and that's exactly where she would be going.
