As I was staring at the ceiling thinking, my phone went off signing I had gotten a text. "Just let me relax for once." I sighed. I grabbed my phone to see who it was from. It was from Jack.
Jack: Cc!
Sierra: Jack!
Jack: Can we meet up? I have something important to ask you.
My heart sank, I hope it isn't another date. I like Jack, but as friends.
Sierra: Sure, meet me in the woods in 10mins.
Jack: See you then!
I got off of my bed, I walked out of my room and walked out of my house.
I started to get more and more nervous as I was almost there to the woods. I didn't know what to expect.
As I arrived to the woods I see Jack sitting on the ground, as he saw me he got up from the floor. "Finally." He laughed. "Hey, I'm tired so I took my time." I say and playfully push him. Jack smiled and grabbed my hand, he looked me in the eyes. I froze up as we made eye contact.
"Sierra." He let a hug sigh out. "Will you go to prom with me?" He asked. I stood there with my mouth but no words were coming out. "Jack, I can't. I'm sorry." I manage to get out. Jack let go of my hand. "It's alright, I know you like Benny, I still want to ask you cause I can at least say I tried right?" He says. I nod, "I'm sorry." I softly say. Jack looked at me and shook his head, "don't be sorry it's alright." He frowned.
"Friends?" I asked
"Friends." Jack smiled.
"Well, I gotta head home now to finish my homework, want to come and help me?" I asked him
"I would, but I'm too lazy to do homework right now." He laughed. I laughed with him, "wow, okay. See you, Jack." I say as I gave him a hug. He hugged me back and we started walking our separate ways.
I'm glad he didn't take that personal. I felt bad that I rejected him but I really like Benny. I shook my head and started jogging to my house, I had a lot of homework to catch up on.
As I got home I grabbed my backpack and sat on the couch. I took out my homework and started rushing through it, I didn't really know what I was doing, but as long as I was getting it done.. right?
My phone went off as I almost finished my homework.
Benny: Yo wassup
Sierra: I'm doing homework, you?
Benny: I'm still at the sandlot, we miss you out here
Sierra: I promise I'll be there tomorrow!
Benny: you sure?
Sierra: I promise. Don't worry.
Benny: alright, have fun with homework!
I slightly laughed at his text. I really missed the sandlot and my friends. I've been so busy that I haven't gone in a while, but tomorrow for sure I was going to go no matter what.
