💮Jumin Han💮

After I saw Saeran last night with that creepy grin of his, he walked away. Later at home, I received a message from him, saying that we should meet up at a nearby café. It was a newly established business and of course, it still hadn't racked up customers. I now understand why Saeran would pick this place.

Aside from the fact that it is nearby, there's also the fact that we're the only customers today. Mother was pretty angry at me leaving without telling her but hell, she has no right to tell me what to do when she's sold her own daughter. The moment she set me up in that stupid marriage, she lost the right to be my mother.

"(Y/N), what's with that scowl? You never change, do you..." I heard Saeran say. This stupid guy has been my childhood friend. Why? The mansion he lived in--which was in the middle of the forest on a mountain--was near to my parents' villa. Of course, being an adventurer, I got lost and stumbled upon his home.

At first, he was wary of me. Truth be told, I thought he was ill in the head since he'd usually glare at me from under his bangs but he gradually opened up to me--since I kept stumbling upon his place. Though he never let me in his home, I guess that's alright.

Speaking of, I've never seen him there, lately. And it looks like the mansion's empty...

"Come to think of it, wait, before I make a remark about your insult, can you tell me why I haven't seen you these past few days in the mansion? And I noticed it seems empty now."

He shrugged, "That mansion's good as gone. I've moved in with my twin. With his fiancé, of course."

"What?!" I exclaimed. "But..but! Isn't your twin the same age as you?! Why...why would he be engaged?!"

Saeran arched a brow, "Why wouldn't he be?" Before I could continue with my worries about settling down at such a young age, he added, "What about you? Aren't you engaged to Jumin Han, already?"

I melted back on my seat, "Gosh. We just met last night and the news had already spread this fast."

Saeran let out a chuckle, "You need to take things seriously, you know."

"Wow. This, coming from the guy who told me himself that everything in life is just a game and that we should all be wary of everyone because we can't trust everyone?!" I leaned on the table, "Hey, imposter. Bring out the real Saeran. What? You must be Saeyoung, aren't you..."

He frowned, "Can you stop escaping reality and drowning yourself in your delusions?"

I gasped, "Delusio--"

"And consider marrying Jumin Han." I opened my mouth to protest but he was quick. "What's so wrong in having all the wealth in the world? Any woman would kill to be in your shoes."

"Then I'd gladly trade places with them." I crossed my arms, "You just don't get me, do you. I don't want to marry, YET. Is that too hard to understand?"

"But you could spend some days together with Jumin. Get to know each other. You know," then he shrugged. "You'll never know."

I sighed. Exasperated. "I can't believe this is the same Saeran I am speaking to! Though, your clothes haven't changed and your weird, creepy fashion hasn't--"

"What weird creepy fashio--"

"--but the way you think has seriously changed." Then I leaned my elbows on the table, leaned my chin on my palm and grinned, "I'm glad you and your brother have resolved your conflict. I'm happy for you, Saeran."

His mint eyes grew wider for a second. His cheeks flushed a bright red and then he blinked, scoffed and then he laughed. "You're creepy!"

"Wha!!! Don't call other people creepy! Reflect on your fashion first!"

Just as I stood up, the bells of that café chimed. I looked up to see a man standing by the doorframe with his other hand in the pocket of his slacks.

He strided like how a King would. I could only imagine his subjects would be leaning on one knee as he walked.

"Are you committing adultery now?" it was his voice, which vibrated right from his throat and out his razor-thin lips. His jaw was set. His dark eyes were piercing through me. Though he wore his usual calm demeanor, something was telling me that behind that expression--he was angry.

I gulped. And when it had hit me, I suddenly breathed. It somehow felt as if I had stopped breathing and was in shackles. "Wh-What?! What adultery?! Are you kidding me?! We're not even--"

"(Y/N)," the sound of my name spoken in such a low, deep voice made me clamp my mouth shut. Not ripping his eyes off of me, he spoke, "Let's go."

He threw a glance at Saeran, who was indifferent to him as well, and then started walking.

I don't know what happened but I found myself following him while looking at his broad back.

Somehow, no matter how expressionless his face seemed, there was no denying the anger that was seeping off of his body--even when he said nothing.

And it scared me.

Could there be something more to Jumin than meets the eye?
