Today was a day off in Louisiana before the next shows. We'd checked into a hotel that we'd be staying in for the next two days, which was amazing; hotel beds were way more comfortable than bus beds. But now, we had time to do even more sightseeing. Of course, for most of the boys, this meant getting high and drunk at whatever bar was nearby.
For the girls and me, however, the only thing we could talk about was the wedding. It didn't matter if we'd already covered a piece of it or not, or if there were other things to talk about; that was what everyone was invested in at the moment, not just me. Of course, one of the main ideas was going to be the wedding dress.
"Very tasteful," I told them all when Liv inquired about it. "Lacy, long most definitely, but not Cinderella-y?" I tried to explain to them. "I don't want it to be puffy or princess-y, but I want it to be elegant. I want the accessories to have most of the bling, I guess. Does any of that even make sense? I'm not too sure about the specific cut, though."
Jasmine laughed. "Y'know, Louisiana is actually known for a couple of their bridal shops, Stel. We should go shopping today, so you can at least get an idea of what you want. It is a day off, after all. And even if you don't know, we can have them hold the dresses. We do have a show here tomorrow, so it gives you a little more time to see if you're gonna get one here."
Sonic cracked her neck and raised an eyebrow at us, thinking on a different note. "Have you even talked to Axl about any of this? Not the dress, but the other shit, like where, and when?" She paused for a short moment. "I mean, you don't wanna wait too long, do you?" Now, it struck me as somewhat odd that Sonic wanted this thing sooner or later, but for now, I shrugged it off. Even if she quit the band, it wasn't like she couldn't come. I wasn't that terrible.
I shook my head. "Maybe I should ask him before we leave... I'll be right back." Thankfully, the boys hadn't left yet; I assumed some of them were still asleep. So, I sneaked in quietly, unsure of what was going on in the Guns bus. Axl was playing poker with Steven and Izzy, using cigarettes for playing pieces.
Axl's bright eyes flickered over to me as soon as I walked in, and a smile formed on his face. "The girls want me to start dress shopping, so uh, I was kind of wondering if we could talk a little bit about the wedding..?" He nodded, asking Izzy to hold his cards for when he got back. I'm sure he knew well enough that they'd be cheating though, because I just saw him slip an ace into his pocket as he stood.
We sat down on the bed, and Axl swung an arm around me. "You got any ideas, so far, babe?" he asked, pulling me into his chest. "Not that I don't, but I want this to be your day, Stella." He kissed my head, and I couldn't help but smile and shiver just a little bit.
"It's our day," I corrected Axl, turning and pecking his nose. "And I was thinking lots of compromise, honestly. Like, we each pick a wedding color, I pick my maid of honor, you pick your best man, we both pick a cake flavor, that kind of thing. What about the place, and when? Sonic actually mentioned having it sooner than later, which makes a little more sense in the um, practical way of thinking. Y'know, before she leaves the band."
Axl shrugged, smuggling me into him as well. "Uh, for the color, I'm going with silver; that way we can make it just a little more edgy. Iz is my best man, ain't a question about it. Cake, I like vanilla. And actually, since we're touring around there, we can have a beach wedding in Florida; that's an idea, anyway."
I giggled, appreciating that he'd been thinking about it. "Well, I want a dark purple, Liv is probably going to be my maid of honor because she's my best friend and it gets rid of conflict, and I want a white cake because it's traditional and it leaves more room for decorations. I think a beach wedding sounds amazing, actually. Where'd you come up with that, babe?"
