             Chapter 3

             Nicholas’ P.O.V.

I stood and watched in horror as Rouge was about to be murdered. I wanted to do something, anything. This girl had saved my life and she gets repaid by losing her own? I couldn’t help but feel that this entire thing was my fault, if she hadn’t saved me then she wouldn’t be dieing. I was angry at my dad for doing this. No. Angry doesn’t even describe the word I’m feeling. I’m beyond pissed at him. I don’t know why but I felt a strange connection with Rouge. I felt like I could trust her. I had thought that maybe she was my mate but I can’t tell yet because I haven’t shifted. And it’s pretty obvious neither has she.

I was left to only watch her as she mouthed the words, ‘I forgive you’ to me. I wanted to go and help her. I wanted to save her like she saved me. But I couldn’t. I couldn’t walk to her even if I wasn’t Alpha commanded to just sit here. I can’t believe my own father would Alpha command me.

I watched as Rouge closed her eyes and took deep breaths. She closed her eyes and I could tell she was calm. ‘How?” I thought to myself. ‘How could she be this calm when she was about to get murdered?

Suddenly her eyes shot open. But these eyes weren’t hers. They weren’t the bright Aqua blue eyes I found so interesting. No these eyes were baby blue. They looked nothing like Rouge. These eyes were filled with anger and rage. These eyes looked out for revenge.

“HOW DARE YOU TRY AND KILL ROYALTY!” She shouted. This definitely wasn’t Rouge, it sounded nothing like her. This voice was dripping with venom, and her whole body now radiated power. Even more power than my father contained and he was the most powerful Alpha on this continent.

Her hands broke from the cuffs holding her hands back with such ease it looked like she was snapping a twig. Her hands instantly shot out and the 5 guards behind her fell backwards. The knife that was on her thought was now hovering in mid-air. And with a flick over her wrist went flying in my father’s direction. I whizzed right by his head and logged itself into the door behind him. I knew though that he hadn’t dodged it had been too fast so I can only assume she hadn’t had the intention to kill him. If she had, he would have been dead.

Rouge cried out agony and then I knew that she was still in there. A guard approached her from behind with a gun.

“Rouge behind you!” I yelled. She instantly turned around and glared at the mad with the gun, most likely loaded with silver bullets. He shot a bullet at her but before it could hit her she stepped to the side and grabbed the bullet mid-air as it passed by her. She looked at the bullet that was in between her thumb and index finger before looking back to the man that had shot the gun and squished the bullet with her fingers. My eyes nearly popped out of my head at that. This definitely wasn’t Rouge.

Pulling her hands in an upward motion air began to swirl around her, creating a tornado before she turned her palms towards the man with the gun and pushed. The air tornado swiftly traveled over to him and he got caught up in it. Once he had swirled around and reached the top Rouge dropped her hands to the side and the tornado vanished and the man came tumbling down.

Rouge turned back towards me before she closed her eyes sucking in a deep breath. As she left the breath out she opened her eyes and looked around. Her eyes had changed back to their Aqua blue and some of the power seemed to leave her, while some stayed. She looked at me in confusion before turning and looking at all the men that lay unconscious on the ground.

“Wh-what happened?” She question before letting an agony filled scream escape her lips. She was on the ground with her bones snapping harshly. I had n ever seen anyone shift this quickly. After that there were no more screams she kept quiet while shifting.

About 2 minutes later Rouges spine snapped and immediately a beautiful pure white wolf was in her place. She was very large for a female and she looked powerful. Deadly even. Suddenly her head snapped in my father’s direction and a loud threatening growl escaped her lips before she turned and took of running towards the Neutral territory between the Black Mountain and us. I was relieved that she had gotten away. Not even angry that she had hurt some of my pack mates. They deserved it. A large growl came from my father. He was furious, I could tell. He had been beaten, by a girl nonetheless.

“Go after her and bring her back, dead or alive. Chain her in the dungeons and inject her with silver. And a lot of it. It will cause her more damage now that she has shifted.” He yelled. The unhurt pack members looked hesitant. After seeing what she could do I didn’t blame them. Although I wasn’t worried because for some strange reason, I knew she wouldn’t hurt me.

“Dad don’t you think it would be more rational to help these members that have already been hurt? I mean after seeing what she can do, do you really want to risk the lives of more pack members?” I questioned him. I knew he didn’t like to be questioned but it had to be done unless we wanted more people hurt. A couple pack members muttered their agreement. “Besides did you see how fast she could run? She is probably already to the border by now and there is no way we are going to cross into no mans land right now.” I added hopping it would calm him down a bit. He sighed before nodding his head.

“Yeah, I guess your right. You three,” he pointed to the three guards that had just come back from running a perimeter check. “Help Isaac with the wounded. Chris and Nick, come with me. We have to strategize incase she comes back.” Isaac, the pack doctor, nodded before grabbing the wheel chair he had brought for me from the infirmary and helping me get into it. Chris, my dads second in command, came towards me and wheeled me up the ramp and into my dad’s office.

“Lets talk strategy.” He said before sitting down in one of the large chairs across from my dad.
