Scarlett's POV:

He quickly wrapped his arms around me with joy while I gave him an awkward pat on the back.

"I'm so glad your here." He whispered trying to hold back his tears.

"Have we met before?" I questioned awkwardly, while he moved me out of his arms.

"Well of course you do, don't you... remember me Scarlett?" He wiped his tears away.

"I don't think so..." I spoke a bit confused. 'Did I really know this man, like along time ago?' I thought as he looked angry once again.

"Well of course you do! I-...m..." he stopped while it appeared that he was thinking about it for a while.

"Never mind, I'm just glad your safe Scarlett." He quickly turned around while he whimpered.

"I'm sorry sir-....Shadow, I do not remember you. But it would be nice to be updated about this invasion from a man such as yourself." I smiled wanting him to look back at me. He didn't bother to look back but just held his head up high.

"You can stay, come with me." He spoke walking away.

I quickly followed not wanting to get lost. He slowly walked up some steps to a house as I did the same. I stood behind him waiting for him to open the doors. *Screech...* The door screeched as he opened it slowly.

He quickly walked inside while I slowly walked in to see a couch and a refrigerator, along with two closed windows and another boarded up window. I looked to see Shadow starring at me with tears still forming in his eyes.

"I thought the electricity all over the world had shut off..." I spoke breaking up the silence.

"It did, I have a power generator."

He began to walk into another small room along with stairs. I followed him inside the small room and saw a door half open leading into another room. I quickly followed him up the stairs. The stairs creaked one at a time as we walked up to the second floor. I had gotten the chills while a breeze followed in the room we walked in.

I saw a bed once I approached the room, along with another door, a bookshelf, and a window which was open. I looked around to see more of the room, I than walked into a balcony and looked down from up top.

I saw a city far from the distance, there was fire everywhere. "Like the view?" Shadow walked beside me leaning on the balcony.

"No, not at all." I spoke a bit concerned.

"Well that's the only view I've got, and I'm sorry that our planet has fucked up big time, but in the mean time I would like to just relax and wait for the zombies to come and seek over to our destination..." He spoke again heading into the room.

"Over here?" I questioned following him back into the room.

He than opened the door that I was curious about, it showed a shower and a toilet.

"Yes, almost everyday they come here, I don't know why but that's just how I've been living." He spoke again.

He than opened another door that I hadn't seen which was hidden behind a bookshelf. I peeked inside seeing weapons and other violent items.

"Wow, where did ya get all that stuff?" I questioned.

"Huh?" He looked back at me.

"Oh... I use to work for G.U.N before the invasion, and stole a few items." He spoke getting out knives. I gently sat on top of the bed feeling a bit tired from all that happened today, or a while ago.

*Sigh* I sighed. Shadow quickly looked up at me while I looked at him back.

"Where have you been?" He stopped doing what he was doing and sat on top of the bed interested to be updated by me.

"I--I've been on the streets-..."

"On the streets?!" He yelled concerned.

"Ye-...yeah why?" I spoke worriedly.

"Well most zombies wonder around here and in the city."

"But I was in New York." He looked up at me confused.

"Than how did you end up here?" He spoke again. Suddenly the thought of Zhadow hit me with pain to my heart.

"I-..I was saved by two zone cops, Zonic and-...and." I stopped while tears formed into my eyes.

"And?" He spoke impatiently.

"Zhadow." His eyes widened by my response.

"You've actually met him before?" He spoke raising his brow.

"Yes, and he looks just like you."

"So I've heard..." He said with a smirk. I giggled trying not to cry.

"Yes, but he saved me from a zombie." I began to tell him the story about what happened while he listened carefully.

"Wow, I'm sorry, I've always wanted to meet the guy." He spoke trying to make me feel better.

Tears began to water out of my eyes. "Well he's in a better place now, and...." I didn't bother to speak anymore but just laid back down on the bed hitting my head on a very soft pillow.

I began to think about Zhadow again, and !thought about how we got along so well. I looked down at my ring and noticed Shadow's blur staring at me. I looked at him and saw him starring back down at me.

"Did we have a past before, Shadow?" I questioned worriedly.

"Get some shut eye Scarlett, you'll need it." He ignored my question pulling the blankets on top of me.

He placed a kiss on my forehead like a father to his daughter, while he walked out of the room. 'What am I doing?' I thought while I thought again about Zhadow, and Sonic. I missed them both very much. I slowly felt my eyes shutting from drowsiness and suddenly saw darkness. I was soon sound asleep and began dreaming about sunlight.

*****"Sunlight please come again

Before I die from these wounds

That have been pouring in..."*****
