Chapter 10: I'm sorry

Shadow's POV

We soon approached my room while she gently put me down on my bed. She quickly looked for a first aid kit 'I'm guessing.' While shaking from anxiety.

"Scarlett?" I called for her attention.

"Hmm?"

She didn't bother to look back at me.

"It's in the closet." I pointed at the closet door with a bit of a struggle. She looked directly at the door for a short second.

She quickly headed for the door and opened it while I looked down at the cuts that were made. It made a bit of a stinging sensation as i gently places my fingers on each wound, but shooed off the feeling and looked back up at her.

'How did I manage to get hurt so bad today? I've fought a lot more zombies...was it the cause of worrying about Scarlett to much?'

She quickly sat down on the bed next to me while I slowly got up from laying down. She got out alcohol, bandages, cotton balls, a needle and some stitches. I looked up at her revealing her eyes getting even yellower than usual. She started to shake even more while spilling the alcohol on a Cotten ball.

I gently pushed my hand on her arm, getting her to calm down. She looked up at me with an awe and took in a deep breath. She than slowly pushed the Cotten ball against the cuts while I waited patiently to start feeling a violent sensation.

"Arghh!" I yelled.

"I'm-...I'm Sorry!" She yelled feeling guilty.

"no it's okay, it's just tha-.... Ahhh!" I yelled again in agony.

I shut my eyes tight and bit my lip trying to avoid the pain that kept developing, but after a while the pain stopped.

*Sniff, sniff* I heard the sound of crying and quickly looked up at Scarlett revealing tears forming and falling helplessly from her eyes.

"Scarlett?" I questioned feeling a bit sorry.

"No, no, don't worry about me I'm just really scared that's all." She tried holding back her tears and it made me feel even more guilty, I didn't mean to make her cry.

I stopped her from dabbing the Cotten ball against my skin and held my hand with hers and slowly intertwined my fingers. She immediately looked up at me while tears formed into my eyes.

'I think she's cracked...'

"It's going to be okay." I finally spoke. She took a moment of staring at me and quickly crashed herself into hugging me ever so tightly.

" *sniff, sniff* I-I'm so so-...sorry! I ne-..never wanted y-...you to see me l-...like th-..thi-...this!" She bursted out in tears while it just made me want to cry even more.

I hugged her tighter hoping she would never let go, I never wanted to let her go in the first place but I don't know how she lost her memory. I started to sniff not even realizing I was crying as bad as she was.

She pulled out of the hug and looked at me curiously.

"Are you crying Shadow?" She asked wiping her tears still having her arms around my neck.

"Ye-...yeah, I am."

"Why? Are you okay?" She asked with a bit of sorrow wiping down my tears that had been falling out of my eyes.

"I don't know, it's just that..." I scratched my head thinking about our memories a certain one... A special one.

"Look, Scarlett I..."

"I'm sorry I didn't help you Shadow, I was just scared of maybe becoming one of those corpses, there was just too many of them." She interrupted me. I quickly hugged her back admiring her hair while I stroked it down slowly.

"It's okay, I'm just glad your here Scarlett." I spoke still hugging her.
