EPILOGUE

The sky is burning with colors as the sun sets. The clouds are almost none existent making the sky as clear as it can be.

The smell of smoke is covering my surrounding but it was a welcome smell. A familiar and calming smell that makes me smile.

"What are you smiling about there?"

A warm hand touched my shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze. I looked up and smiled at the most beautiful woman I had ever laid eyes on.

"Nothing. Just enjoying the day. Sunny days are so scarce here in England that it makes me appreciate this kind of weather."

She sat beside me and put both her palms flat on the ground in each of her sides before leaning back and looking up to the sky.

"Well, I told you so. I grew up here and as I said, the weather sucks. We can still move to the US."

I looked at her and smiled. "Well, I always listen to you."

Mabilis syang tumingin sakin. "What does that mean?"

Nagkibit balikat nalang ako pero kinukulit nya pa din ako. We stopped playing around when Elijah called us.

"DAD! The barbeque is ready!"

Mabilis kaming nagpunta sa table namin. Mr. Abel and Nanay Lucy are with us and we often have this picnic whenever the weather allows us.

We ate the food, tell stories to each other and exchange our mandatory 'how-are-yous'

When it is time to clean up I gather their attention.

"Everyone, please. Before we leave I want to say a few words."

Everyone sat back down and Anne looked at me quizzically. I smiled at her and looked at the kids.

The three kids know about this surprise of mine. I needed to know their thoughts and they agree to this decision I made.

"I know that my wife is now having ideas in her head. But first, this is not a second proposal."

Everyone suddenly laughed and Anne shook her head.

"And this is not a divorce proposal as well." more laughter.

I looked at Anne the way I always looked at her for the past years that we have been together.

"My love. I know that you have been wanting this for a while now so, I and the kids decided to do this finally."

Kunot noo syang tumingin sakin at sa mga bata.

"Anne, my love, will you live in New York with us?"

Her eyes widen and then looked at the kids.

"Are you guys sure?"

"Yeah, we are! Right kids?"

The three of them nodded in agreement to me. "We know you want to move there Mom and honestly we could use a change of scenery."
