Lucky With Time~ Perri Kiely

'Get in,' He says,

Walking through Essex by myself in the pitch black wasn't exactly how I expected tonight would go, I've been waiting for him for days to come back from Skegness where they were at butlins and I couldn't wait for him to get home.

Just as things couldn't get worse, I look up and feel a drop of water on my cheek, within the same second, the rain starts pouring and I get absolutely soaked, I put my hood up on my jumper and look around for some kind of indication as to where I am, but I can't, I'm in the middle of nowhere.

Behind me, I hear a car coming up with road and see the light from the headlights, I contemplate whether to pull them over and ask for directions but I just get my phone out to go- great, no service.

The car pulls up on the curb and the window winds down, My heart begins to race because I can't see who's in the car because it's pitch black and the lights block out their face. When my eyes adjust to the light, I see who's in the car.

Perri...

'Get in,' He says,

I pull the car door open and jump in, getting away from the rain as quickly as possible.

'Perri I-'

'Shh,' He doesn't make eye contact with me, he just focuses his eyes on the road. It feels weird, the car being silent. He always has the radio on.

We go through the whole journey in silence, I look out the window as we pass petrol stations and service stops, I really miss talking to him. I just want us to be okay again, if we ever do...

We pull up at my drive, I look at him, waiting for him to say goodbye, or love you, or even see you tomorrow. But nothing, I get nothing. He keeps his hand on the wheel and looks forward, breathing slowly.

I go to open my mouth but then stop myself instantly, I open the car door, slamming it shut behind me. I storm up the drive and open the door, I walk in and turn around in the doorway to look back to Perri and he has his head in his hands, this breaks me. I love him and I hate seeing him like this, with a bewildering amount of remorse, I turn around and close the door behind me, I burst out crying and rest my back on the door, I kneel down on the floor, crying hysterically.

I stay there for minutes until I calm down and stand up slowly, still sniffling and hiccuping, I walk down the hallway until I get to the bottom. All of a sudden the door bursts wide open and the handle hits the wall, I spin around and see Perri in the doorway, he looks at me and I look at him, well it's not even a look, more like a stare. Not like in a horrible way but more like a 'I'm sorry and I and I can't believe what just happened' way, Immediately, he speeds down the hallway and cups my cheek, smashing his lips into mine,

'I'm sorry,' He whispers,

'Me too,'

He kisses me again and again.

'Why is the door wide open?' I hear my Mum ask in utter confusion,

Perri turns round and I move my head slightly to the right to see my Mum, Joe and jackson in the doorway,

'Oh,' I sigh, 'long story,'

'Well if you guys are gonna like, well kiss or whatever, do it privately and not in front of the open door,' Joe chuckles,

All a sudden a sense of bitchiness comes over me,

'Fine,' I scoff, I take Perris hand and take him upstairs, he turns round briefly to look at my Mum then turns round and jogs up the stairs behind me.

'Kace what are you-' I cut him off by kissing him, something I've dreaded for the past hour I might not ever be able to do again,

'I messed up Kace, and I'm sorry,' He mumbles, removing his lips from mine but they were only millimeters apart, I shake my head and wrap one arm around his shoulders and one through his hair, he puts his hands on my waist and kisses me passionately,

'Are you staying the night?' I whisper,

'Definitely,'He smiles onto my lips.
