The Sparrow

Chapter 16

"So, what I'm hearing is, the syrum that Loki gave me fixed me? Isn't he the bad guy? I thought he was trying to kill me or make me a monster or something." I say and Bruce nods.

"The syrum reduced the size of your heart, it can be fully on its own so no more pacemaker." He explains and now its my turn to nod.

"But why would he do that?" I ask and the room falls quiet.

"Look kid, no one knows and I don't think anyone really wants to know what Loki is thinking. The point is, you're better and thats great." Tony says and Natasha stands. 

"He's right Em, look on the bright side!! You can be near the tech in the main room without it glitching!" She jokes and I let out a small laugh.

"Great point. But anyways, now that we have all this stuff resolved, can I leave?" I question and Bruce chuckles.

"Technically, you couldv'e left about," He checks his watch. "5 minutes ago." He finishes and I leap out of bed and grab the bundle of clothes near by. The room burst into laughs as I step into the restroom. I pull on the sweats and T-shirt and step out. 

"Man that thing was itchy." I mumble and drop it on the bed. We all leave and seeing as its 8:00 at night  by now, everyone heads to bed. I walk into my new room and lay on the bed thinking about my day. After laying there for a good 5 minutes I realized that I'm not even tired, I was hungry in fact. I climbed out of bed and grabbed a hand gun ot of my dresser, tucking it in to my waist band. The door opens with a quiet hiss and I step out. As I make my way to the cafeteria, the floor squeaks  behind me and I whip around pulling my gun out. I aim for the forhead and laugh when I see Tony with his hands up in surrender and wide eyes. 

"Woah there Em, I mean no harm." He jokes and I giggle at him. 

"Riiight." I say and turn back around to continue my way to the cafeteria. He runs to catch up and walks beside me.

"So where are you going?" He asks and I glance at him.

"The cafeteria, I'm starving." I tell him and he nods.

"Me too." When we finally get there he pulls me into the kitchen.

"What are you doing? We can't be in here!!" I say and he laughs out loud. 

"I'm showing you where the good stuff is sweet heart." He laughs and opens a freezer. Before me is an entire freezer full of assorted ice cream flavors. My eyes widen.

"How the hell did you find this?"  I ask.  He pulls out a tub of chocolate and motions for me to choose.

"Your brother actually, him and Natasha found it. He told me about it and I figured I could show it to you." He looks down and picks at the lid on the ice cream. I look down shyly and look back up at him through my eyelashes. He's looking at me already with an emotion I can't detect in his eyes. Hope? Fear maybe? But fear of what?
