The foot steps become louder and Loki jumps away from me. My cheeks become inflamed as I look around the glass cell not thinking quickly enough to escape due to panic.

"Go!" Loki whisper shouts, "Get out of here! Quickly!!" I look from him to the door and back against the glass. He cocks an eyebrow at me and looks around the cell before snapping up to stand straight as Natasha enters the room.

"What have you done with Agent Barton?" She asks but it comes out as a demand rather than a question.

"Your world in the balance, and you bargain for one man?" He asks, a sly smirk making its way onto his features.

"Regimes fall every day. I tend not to weep over that, I'm Russian... or was." Natasha bites back and stands her ground. How has she not seen me? I look down and press myself farther into the glass. But I noticed my feet were... missing? What the hell?

"What the hell?" I voiced my thoughts and Natasha's head snaps over in my general direction and not even missing a beat Loki replies.

"And what are you now?" Natasha returns her attention to Loki and I silently thank him.

"It's really not that complicated. I've got red in my ledger, I'd like to wipe it out." She says and Loki gives a sarcastic laugh and narrows his eyes.

"Can you? Can you wipe out that much red? Drakov's daughter, Sao Paulo, the hospital fire? Barton told me everything. Your ledger is dripping, it's GUSHING red, and you think saving a man who is no more virtuous than yourself will change anything? This is the basest sentimentality. This is a child at prayer... PATHETIC! You lie and kill in the service of liars and killers. You pretend to be separate, to have your own code, something that that makes up for the horrors. But they are a part of you, and they will never go away! I won't touch Barton. Not until I make him kill you! Slowly, intimately, in every way he knows you fear! Then I'll have him move onto his sister. Doing the same to her, making all of he greatest nightmares come to life. And then he'll wake just long enough to see his good work, and when he screams, I'll split his skull! This is MY bargain, you mewling quim!" Loki spits and I have to bite back a sob. What had I thought? That he actually liked me? Felt something for me? I almost mock myself in my thoughts, unsure as to what I had been thinking. I pass through the glass and take off down the hallway, not even bothering to listen to the rest of the conversation. As I run down the halls my feet start to show again and before I know it, hot tears are streaming down my face. Without bothering to look up, I turn a corner and run straight into someone's chest.

"Ms. Emma, why do you weep? Are you harmed?" Thor asks, grabbing my arms before I could fall to the ground. I hastily wiped away the tears, not wanting to cry in front one of my childhood heroes.

"I'm not hurt Thor, I'm just... where are you headed?" I changed the subject and the god didn't seem to notice.

"I was told to head to the laboratory, would you by chance know where that is?" He questions with a lost look on his face as he looked down the hallways. I giggle quietly, covering my mouth with my wet hand. I grab Thor's hand and walk him down one of the hallways to the lab. When we reach the correct hallway I put my ear piece back in, seeing as I had taken it off when I was talking Loki, and sent Thor off telling him I was going to the bathroom and I would be in there shortly. After locating a bathroom and cleaning myself up, I made my way to the lab. When I entered, everyone was in a full-blown argument. Some monitor thing beeped and Bruce headed over to it while grumbling about a "party trick." His eyes went wide and he looked up right as somewhere on the helli-carrier explodes.
