Chapter 8- Broken Family

Nicki's P.O.V

Oh my god! I can't believe Soph's wearing Devon Malik's hoodie, she told me she thinks he's a complete dick and is totally big headed, so why is she wearing his hoodie if she doesn't like him?

I've been trying to get her attention but she's completely zoned out. All lesson she's been staring down at the desk, her eyes look so watery but no tears have fallen... So what's wrong? Drama is one of her favourite subjects so the fact that she hasn't paid attention isn't right. Come to think of it she's been like this since lunch, since she came back from her 'alone time' but she obviously wasn't alone if she came back Devon's hoodie. So question is what were they doing together?

I turn to look at Sophia who is still stating endlessly at the desk. A gut feeling tells me something happened.

Sophia's P.O.V

I can feel my neck throbbing, but the rest of my body just feels numb. I love Drama but I haven't been taking any notice of today's lesson. Mr Brooks 1asked for volunteers to do a practical improvisation, he suggested I do it but I turned him down, everyone's still shocked that I didn't accept. Nicki's been trying to get my attention all lesson but I don't want to zone back in. I'm comfortable where I am right now... Thinking.

"Soph, are you okay?" Nicki asks

"Yeah, I'm fine why?" I reply

"You just seemed really distant in Drama."

"I was just yanoe thinking"

"Thinking? Soph you turned down doing an improvisation, that's definitely not like you."

"Yeah I know, I just wasn't really in the improvising mood"

"Err okay then"

A silence falls between us and it's awkward. I keep my eyes on the road while Nicki plays with her fingers.

"But..." She says breaking the silence

"But what?" I question

"Why are you wearing Devon's hoodie?"

I freeze at her question, what am I supposed to say?

"Well?" She says waiting for my answer

"Erm I was cold..." I slowly reply

What? I was cold... Dumb.

"Oh okay, well what were you doing with him anyway?"

"Er well I was on my way back to the cafeteria when I bumped into him, we got to talking and he noticed I was cold so he offered me his hoodie. I know such a gentleman."

Wow I'm good, and gentleman my ass he's the complete opposite.

"Oh well that was nice of him, sounds like someone likes you Soph" she giggles

"Hell no Nick, it ain't like that. Just because he let me borrow his hoodie does not me he likes me. And I definitely do not like him" I roll my eyes at her as we pull up outside Louis's school.

"Yeah sure it doesn't but I know he likes you. Soph you know I'm always right."

I reply with a no as see Louis running up to the car.

"You know you like him Soph; you think he's hot don't you?"

I groan at her while Louis gets into the car.

"Eww why you making sex noises?" Louis asks in a disgusted tone

"She's thinking about Devon" she replies with a massive grin on her face.
