Mikes eyes shot open. His mouth was dry and his chest heavy. Except, he didn't sit up right away, he couldn't. His heart raced in his chest as he tried to figure out where he is. He slowly placed a hand on his chest; but only, he never felt his chest. Instead, he felt hair. He felt the soft locks between his fingers and he automatically knew it was Eleven. A feel of relief washed over him, because he could feel her chest rising and falling at a steady pace against his own body; she was alive and breathing. The room was still dark, and Mike laid there for a while trying to piece together where exactly he was. A light turned on behind him, and to his surprise, they were safe and sound in Mikes living room.

"Hi honey, im starting dinner." Karen peaked through the door way and gave Mike a smile. He released his tension when he heard his mothers voice, because this meant it was just a dream. Eleven laid fully on top of him—their legs tangling together in a strange mess, and her arms stretched out above her head so she could wrap her fingers behind his neck. Mike heard the phone ring in the kitchen, and he knew right away it was Corinne giving her "nightly call." He ignored it though. Mike shook Eleven gently in an attempt to wake her up. She groaned in annoyance.

"Cmon El, we have school tomorrow." She raises her head slowly to look at him.

"I don't even want to go." She whispers. She buries her head in Mikes chest and inhales deeply.

"You have to go, it's fun El I promise it will get better." That was a lie, but he needed to encourage her as much as possible.

They sat in silence for a while, just enjoying each other's company. They didn't necessarily need to talk when they were together. Just being in each other's presence is enough.

Eleven slid on her new maroon dress, and her new white Chuck Taylors. She wears white socks underneath, and just where the high top of her shoe stops, silk-like ruffles line the top. She pinned a few piece of hair back with bobby pins. She stands at the door, waiting for Mike to be ready for school. She crosses her knobby red knees over one another and taps impatiently. She just wants to get the day over with.

When they reach the school doors, Mike releases Elevens hand before entering. Eleven is a bit hurt by this. They're already running late, so she just figured he was in a rush. They sprinted down the empty halls to get to their lockers before the first bell rang. Eleven, now separated from Mike, speed walks to her first class with binders and notebooks clutched to her chest. All of a sudden, Mike stops her and kisses her hungrily on the lips. She steps back for a second, surprised by the sudden action, but then gives in to his kiss. They part and Mike smirks at her as he goes to his own class. Eleven shakes her head in embarrassment, as she realizes they were standing right next to a classroom—and that classroom contained one student who sat with his jaw ajar—Troy.
