I wasn't looking forward to having to fall asleep in an hour. Kyle, Leah, Jake Ryan, Michealla, Nikki and I were all at the movies. We had been watching Catching Fire for the first hour and a half. It only had one hour left. I was upset because of that fact. One reason was because that movie was too freaking good to end, and the other was that there was a strong possibility that I would have another memory dream again. At the thought of him, I shivered, which caused Kyle to wrap his jacket around me. Little did he know that no matter how many jackets Justin wrapped around me, I would still shiver from his face fresh in my mind.
His face.
He hadn't changed. Although how can one change after a simple two years? Of course he was a bit broader and taller, but other than that, he was the same-and it killed me that he was. He had the same smile, the same eyes, the same beanie obsession-everything. The thing that bothered me was how he was trying to 'explain' why he did what he did. Part of me was glad that I never let him finish his sentence, but another part of me wished I had. I shivered again despite Kyle's warm arm and jacket around me. Then there was Kyle. I had told myself earlier that they were nothing alike-Kyle and he- but I had been lying to myself.
They were too much alike. Sure, I had only known Kyle for two weeks and two days, and I've known him since first grade, but they weren't that different. They both had the tendency to laugh like a retarded seal, they both seemed to think that I couldn't fend for myself, they both worried too much whenever I wasn't near them, and they both seemed to like me-a lot.
"There is no District twelve," Gale said as the movie ended. The lights went up and my eyes struggled to adjust. I stood up, Justin's arm still around me, and followed my gang into the theater lobby.
"That." Nikki said suddenly, "Was the best movie I have ever seen." She still, obviously in shock from the amazing movie we had just seen. Michealla stood next to Nikki in the same state. I rolled my eyes at both of them. Psh. Amateurs. I stood next to them and dramatically fell to the floor, causing Jake Ryan and Kyle to have confused looks on their faces.
"Oh, Katiniss!" I cried, "Thou art dost know thy fate!" I stretched my hands in the air. "PEETA! OH, PEETA! WHERE FOR ART THOU, PEETA?!" As I got up, I got a chill down my spine. Somebody was watching me. I looked around. I made eye contact with him. He was just walking out of the same exact theater we had just come out of. Had he been spying on me? He didn't come near me. Instead he simply looked at me, with an expression that didn't make sense. In his eyes I saw, "I'm sorry". Did he really think he could just walk up in this joint and look at me with those eyes and those adorable dimples...
"Earth to Alex?" I saw a hand wave in front of my face. I turned to all of my friends, looking at me. "Ready to go or are you going to stare at the drink machine for another five minutes?" Kyle continued. I looked back at where he was, but I didn't see him anymore. I turned back to Kyle.
"What if I'm in love with the drink machine?" I asked. He smiled and rolled his eyes and led us outside. This time I shivered because I was actually cold. I looked over my shoulder to see Leah and Jake laughing happily. They were so cute together. I wonder if people thought that Kyle and I were cute together.
My question was answered when we got to the hotel.
There were 'Kalex' signs everywhere in the sea of fans. I'll never get why there were so many fans, standing in the cold air just to catch a glimpse of me or Kyle. What was the big deal? We were just people. Human beings. I smiled at them all, not wanting to yell since my throat hurt from yesterday. Yesterday... I shivered again as we walked into the lobby. It was nice and toasty in there. It felt like Grandma's house. We all had to part ways as we all went to our separate rooms except for Kyle and me. When we got settled in, I knew it was time to sleep. With Kyle lying down next to me, I wanted to sleep. I was tired. I couldn't sleep though. I was lying down, staring at the ceiling fan.
