Lucas ran a towel down his face, the thought of his mate bringing a smile to his face. He had been training gard for the past few hours and was itching to see her beautiful face. Downing a bottle of water he made his way home, ready to hold her in his arms.
Taking the step up to their room two at a time, he opened the door.

Pain.

His hands flew to his now injured nose before he took in the angry gaze of his mate. Lucas allowed his eyes to travel to the ground before they shot back to her.

"Did you just throw a shoe at me?" Lucas stared at his mate, stunned.

"Yes I did," Grace said, voice calm.

Lucas gulped. She was calm, to calm. If there was one thing Lucas knew it was that when a female was mad enough to start throwing stuff and answers in a calm voice, she isn't. Stepping towards her, he was met with an onslaught of items flying his way.  A growl escaped his lips before he launched himself at her, pinning her arms to her sides.

"What the hell Grace!"

"Oh don't you what the hell me, Lucas Donovan!"

Lucas watched as anger sparked in her eyes, his wolf perking up at the sight. His eyes locked in on her chest as it heaved up and down, her breathing deep. He fought the urge to have his way with her and painfully tore his eyes away and met hers.

"Tell me what has you acting crazy," Lucas demanded, flinching when he felt her foot connect with his leg.

"What exactly got into you last night?" Grace pulled away from him and crossed her arms.

A look of confusion passed his face before he stiffened, head hanging. "I'm sorry if I was to rough. It's just I love the way you feel and.."

Grace held her hand up, silencing him. "Why the hell did you do this, again?" Pulling down her shirt collar, she pointed a finger.

Understanding dawned on him of why she was so angry and he grinned. "I wasn't planning on doing it. You can blame this one on my wolf." Lucas snickered, "he couldn't help himself."

"Don't even try to pass the blame."Grace crossed her arms, eyes narrowed.

Lucas raised his hands in the air. "I swear. The moment you were on your hands and knees in front of me, he completely lost it. He wanted to rut you the whole night. I on the other hand..."

"Alright alright!" Grace screeched, face turning red. "Lets just forget about it."

Lucas watched as she walked around him and to the door. Panic began to settle in. Was she leaving because of what happened? He really had no control of that situation. He couldn't blame her if she didn't trust him about it, not after everything that he put her through. A sadness that he had never felt before starting to seep into him and he wanted to drop to his knees and bed her to stay. Preparing to do just that, she turned and smiled at him.

"Come, we have an appointment with the midwife now. I called this morning when you were out and she said to come in as soon as you got back."

Lucas grinned before planting a kiss on her lips and rushing to the bathroom. "Give me five to wash the sweat off of my body! Don't leave without me!"

Never in all of his life had he ever taken a shower as fast as he did. Not wanting Grace to leave without him, he didn't even wait for the water to heat up before his jumped under the cold spray and began soaping up his body. He was just as quick with the shampoo, causing soap to run down and into his eyes. Hissing at the uncomfortable feeling, he quickly rinsed under the rapidly heating water before turning it off and drying off.

"Almost done!" He shouted as he ran to his dressed and closet, throwing on whatever he could get his hands on. Running his fingers through his wet hair he grinned at her.

Grace stood there with her mouth opened wide. "You didn't have to go that quick."

Lucan grabbed her hand and began pulling her behind him, eager to get to the pack doctor.

"Come on Grace!"

The walk to the doctor was a quick one. Lucas ended up pulling Grace into his arms less than halfway there and carrying her.

"Lucas, I'm not an invalid. I can walk."

Waving her off he grinned. "I know hun. You just walk to slow and we need to talk to the doc."

Pushing through the main door, he was met with the smell of disinfectant and medicine, causing his nose to scrunch up.

"Alpha Lucas, Grace, welcome."

Lucas softly set his mate onto the ground, before smiling. "How are you Shannon?"

Lucas reached out shaking the doctors hand, his arm wrapped protectively and round his mate.

"Good, good. Shall we?" Shannon motioned towards a back room.

Following behind, Lucas was filled to the brim with excitement. He didn't know much about the whole pregnancy and birthing process but he was ecstatic knowing he was going to be a father.

The thought of the baby they had created safely growing in his mate's belly had him puffing up with pride. He couldn't wait for his son to be here. He would teach him everything he knew, but most importantly he would teach him to love and cherish his mate.

A smile pulled at his lips. How long after their son was born would Grace allow him to put another there? He had always wanted a large family and he hoped she felt the same way.

"Lucas!"

Grace's shout snapped him from his thoughts. Looking up, her shirt was lifted, showing off her already slightly rounded stomach and the doctor had wheeled a machine up next to the bed that he didn't even realize she got on.

"Are you ready Alpha?"

Nodding, Lucas came closer to the bed and gripped Grace's hand.

"As I was saying." Shandon cleared her throat, "we develop at a much fast rate than humans and the fact that you're an Alpha and Grace comes from Alpha blood. Your pregnancy will be even faster."

Lucas watched as the screen lit up at the click of a button. He watched the screen intently, his wolf bristling in excitement and nervousness. They both had the same fear, what if nothing showed on the screen.

"Yes, about 5 months." He heard Shandon say, followed by a light gasp from Grace.

"Five months? That's no time to plan!"

Shannon chuckled, "don't worry Grace. Everything will be fine. Besides, Beth will be giving birth right before you, I'm sure the two of you..."

"Where is he?" Lucas choked when he realized that Shannon had gone quiet, her eyes staring at the screen and the wand moving all over Grace stomach.

"Where is he," Lucas shouted, "where is my son?"
