Grace finished putting the last of the laundry away and made her way towards the kitchen. Both Lucas and her had settled into a routine over the past few months. They would eat breakfast together and he would head out to handle pack stuff, before helping out with training. Grace would make lunch for the two of them and once they were done he would head back out.
Finishing up making their lunch, Grace just placed the plates on the table when Lucas walked through the door.
Grace scrunched up her nose, "you stink."
Lucas grinned before pulling her into a hug, a chuckle leaving his mouth when she yelped.
Grace struggled to get away, "you stink, go shower."
Grace watched Lucas bound up the stairs, a goofy grin on his face. The two of them grow close everyday. Ever since the day Lucas thought she was trying to kill herself, they made sure to always talk to each other about everything.
Grace smiled, everything had been going so great between the two of them. She loved him more and more every single day. A small frown appeared, they had hit one small snag, when Beth had her son. Lucas pulled into himself, he refused to talk to her for days. When he finally did he apologized and told her the old feelings of inadequacy surged back.
It had taken Lucas two weeks to finally go and see the baby, now he absolutely adored little Justin. Grace looked down at her flat stomach, she knew every month that went by with no baby was eating Lucas alive. She wanted nothing more than to take all of that pain away. The look of pure joy that would be on his face when she could finally tell him she was pregnant was something she wanted so bad.
Two arms wrapping around her had a large smile taking over her face. "You smell so much better now."
Spinning around d Lucas crushed his lips to hers, his hands grasping her face to keep her from moving. He always kissed her as if it was going to be the last one they ever shared and she loved it, he held nothing back.
Pulling away she took in his relaxed outfit and raised a brow, "no more training?"
Shaking his head he pulled her to the table, sitting with her in his lap. "Nope, I took the rest of the day to spend with the most amazing female to ever walk the face of this earth."
Grace laughed, "what do you want?"
Lucas nuzzled her neck, "you know exactly what I want."
Grace rolled her eyes, pulling there food close to them. The two of them have been going at it for months. The end result that Lucas was looking for was pregnancy, even if he didn't admit it.
Shaking her head she sighed, "not now, I'm getting a bit sore."
Lucas pouted and took a large bite of his food, quickly chewing and swallowing it down. "We should do something today. Want to go to the amusement park?"
"Sure, but no roller coasters."
Lucas looked at her like she was crazy, "no coasters? Grace, really?"
Graced nodded quickly, "yeah, I'm terrified of them."
They finished their food in silence, Lucas slowly running his fingers up and down her arms. Grace sighed, leaning her head back on his shoulder. "Why don't you and Andy go? I'll invite Beth and the baby over and we can have night in."
Grace watched as he went to protest but with one lool, he closed his mouth with excitement in his eyes. She laughed, one moment she was in his lap and the next he was bolt up the stairs yelling his thanks.
Grace paced the living room waiting on Beth to walk in. The boys had been gone a few hours and she was going crazy. At the sound of the door opening, Grace pounced.
"Where have you been?"
Beth stumbled back, a sleeping Justin in her arms. "It's not easy just walking out the door anymore Grace, and I passed out."
Grace shook her head and laughed, "I know I know, I'm sorry. I've just been going out of my mind and this house is way to quiet."
Reaching forward she took Justin from Beth's arms and nuzzled her nose to him. She adored the smell of baby. He was so fresh and clean. Leading them to the living room, she slowly sat on the couch.
"I wish they could just bottle this scent up." Grace sighed.
Beth nodded her head before plopping down across from her. "Yeah, I agree." She giggled, "thanks for having Lucas invite Andy out. He was so excited, although it did take some time to get him to go. He felt bad leaving me alone."
Grace nodded and looked up at Beth, "how is it, being a mother?"
Grace watched as happiness replaced the tired look on Beth's face. Her eyes going to her son and her smile reached her eyes.
"It is the best feeling in the world. Scary though, knowing that this little life relies on you for everything. I can't imagine my life without him and to tell you the truth I can't remember it before he was born."
Grace nodded and looked back at the baby in her arms.
"Your day will come Grace. I promise you, it will come. Our children will then be the best of friends, and the future of this pack." Beth leaned forward and placed her hand on Grace's knee.
Looking up at Beth, Grace allowed a slow smile to form on her face. "I know."
Beth shook her head, "I mean it Grace. You will have your son soon. I just know it."
"I know."
"Seriously Grace, you..."
Grace laughed, cutting her off. "Beth," her tone serious, "I know."
Grace watched as Beth's face took on a look of confusion before her eyes widen and went between her face and stomach.
"What?" Beth jumped up, "when? How?"
Justin began squirming at his mother's loud outburst, be both he and Grace were crushed in Beth's arms.
"Is this why you guys split the two of us up today? So you could tell me and Lucas could tell Andy?" Beth was literally jumping up and down.
Grace quickly shook her head, "no. No, he doesn't know." Grace took a deep breath, "Lucas doesn't know."
Beth stared at her wide eyed, and Grace opened her mouth to speak when a voice behind her had her freezing. Slowly turning on her heel, Grace was met with the angry stare of Lucas. His eyes shift between that of his and his wolfs.
"I don't know what?" He gritted through his teeth.
