Simon's POV
I left the medical room and closed the door, my head lying low. I can't believe a beautiful person like Po, could be suffering that much. The circular burn marks littered on her arms, the nearly healed up gashes in the middle of her arm, descending from below the elbow to her wrist.
I never thought her parents could do something like this to their daughter. They never were like this when we were little. But something could have happened when they moved.
Anything could have happened.
I wish I was there by her side, but I couldn't.
I felt a stray tears cascade down my cheek. I would wipe the tear away, but I felt all my energy drain when I saw Po unconscious. Why did I have to push her? If I never did, she wouldn't be like this.
I was about to wake away when I hear a voice.
Po's POV
I opened my eyes and blinked a few times, so I could adjust my eyes to the bright lighting. I tried sitting up, but I winced. Man I ache all over. "Don't get up Po. You need to rest." I heard Sammie say. "Where am I?" I asked, my voice sounding hoarse. "You are in the medical room at school. You passed out when-- how much do you exactly remember?" Sammie asked and I thought for a moment. "The last thing I remember is Simon pushing me against the locker. That's it." I told her and she nodded. "You passed out right after that. The doctor check your head, which is now bandaged and.. and your body for any other minor injuries..." Sammie whispered the last part.
I shivered and realized I wasn't wearing my jumper no more. I looked down and saw that the burns and cuts were on show. "Who else knows about this? Besides you and the nurse?" I asked, looking at Sammie. She looked down. "Sammie?" I asked. "Simon saw.." She whispered and my eyes widened. "Jumper." I said and she handed me it. I pulled the jumper over my head and sat up, trying my best to not wince in pain.
"What are you doing?" She asked. "I've got to find Simon before he tells Harry." I tell her. I stood up from the medical bench, with the help from Sammie. The nurse walked in and told me to lay down, but I refused. "I'm fine nurse. I need to go." I told her, walking towards the door. "I told the school and the police, what happened." The nurse told me and Sammie. I looked at Sammie and her eyes widened. "You did what?!" She shouted.
"I'm sorry Miss Hobson, if I see one of these students being abused at home, I have the rights to inform the head as well as the police. She can't live this life." The nurse said and my eyes widened. "You told her!" I shouted, making Sammie jump. "I never told her exactly. I didn't think she would pull your jumper off. She questioned me, and I panicked. I told her not to tell anyone." Sammie told me. "Miss Bartaby, it had to be done, you can't be living this life."
"But you don't understand, this makes it much worse on my behalf. You send them to prison, their hatred towards me gets worse. You realize once they get out, they will hurt me even more, they will hurt me to the extent that I am about to die. You put my life on the fucking line!" I shouted, making my way to door, opening it. "Miss Bartaby, I would like it if you didn't swaer and lie back down." She said in a calm tone. The bell rang.
"No. I have to find Simon, before he tells Harry. Or else, this will be around the school." I say, running out of the medical room to my next lesson. The lesson I share with The Sidemen. "Po, wait up!" Sammie shouted. She caught up with me and we entered our lesson. Everyone looked at me and Sammie. Some gasped, some whispered. Like, havve you not seen an injured person before.
I walked up to the Sidemen. They gasped. "What happened to your head?" Vik asked. "Long story." I said, looking at Simon, who was fiddling with his ring on his pinky. "Simon." I said, making him look at me. His eyes weren't bright blue, they looked dull. They were also glistening, it was like he was forcing himself not to cry. "Could I talk to you for a moment? Outside please?" I asked and he nodded.
I tapped Sammie's shoulder and whispered; "Make sure Harry or the Sidemen doesn't know whats happened." I told her. "Why?" She asked. "Because it's no of their business." I said in my normal tone, making them look at us and show a confused look. I walked out of the classroom, Simon following behind. I closed the classroom door and looked at Simon, who was looking down at his shoes.
"Sammie told me you saw.. everything.." I said, pulling my sleeves over my hands. He nodded. "Just forget what you saw." I told him, walking towards the door. He grabbed my wrist and I turned around. "How can I forget Po?" He asked, tears falling down his face. "How can I forget that someone as precious as you hurts themselves." He whispered. "Just forget it Simon. It's bad enough the school and the police know, let alone you knowing." I said, trying to get out of his grasp, but couldn't.
He pulled me back and made me place my back against the wall, his hands on my shoulders. "I will not forget this. I care to much to forget. I can just 'forget' that the girl I like is harming herself because of what I did. I feel guilty for making you feel that way. I don't want you to harm yourself. Everytime I see you hurt, sad or any sort of emotion, it affects me." He says. "I hate myself for making you feel that way. You treat me like rubbish because of the way I treat you. Sometimes I hate you, for all the actions you do. Sometimes I don't know why I bothered trying to get you to notice me when we were younger. You thought it was all fun and games, but no." He continued, his voice slightly raised.
"I don't understand, you say you care, then hate yourself, then you hate me. If you hate me, why have you tried to get my attention?" I question, my voice slightly raise. "Because I like you. I hate that I love you.." He shouted.
I was taken back slightly. "Wait, what di---" Before I could finish my sentence, I felt Simon's lips upon mine. His hands fell from my arms to my waist. I started kissing back, my arms around his neck.
