A Bird!?

Six days have passed since Erilanis found Naruto. He was increasing in leaps and bounds, his endless stamina surprising yet pleasing her. She too seemed to have endless stamina, being on Azeroth made this a key element in surviving.

He had just finished learning Darnassian. He was like a sponge, she mused, soaking up every bit of knowledge he could about her people. He seemed fairly adept at learning something new, once he was motivated. She snickered at what would happen when someone tried to teach him something he didn’t want to learn.

A twig snapped, causing Erilanis to look up from the meat she was cooking. “Fandu-dath-belore?”

“It is I, Shan’do.” A smile spread across Erilanis’s face as she gestured for him to come over.

“Elune-adore, Thero’shan. What brings you here so early?” she asked, handing him some meat as well. He hungrily bit into the juicy, seasoned, and blackened worg meat.

“We don’t have Academy today, so I thought I’d come see you. Can we train some more?” At that she laughed. Always so eager.

“I thought you were meeting with your leader today, little one.” At this he looked startled.

“Ah man, I forgot! Jiji is gonna wonder where I am!”  She chuckled at this. It was just like him to forget. “Will you come with me and meet Jiji, Erilanis-nee-chan?” He had taken to calling her that and she had yet to figure out what it meant.

“You know I cannot go out like this…” she began, watching his face fall in disappointment. “However I never said I would not go out like this.” With that she changed into an armored raven, which circled him once before landing on his shoulder.

He looked at her in awe. “You can turn into a bird..?” She nodded.

“A few more animals as well.”

“. . .YOU CAN STILL TALK AS A BIRD?” he shouted, startling a flock of nearby birds.

“Of course.” He blinked then grinned.

“Let’s go then!” He stood up and she took flight, following him back to his village. What she saw amazed her. It looked nothing like any human settlement she had ever seen, and she loved it. Seeing a flash of blonde, white and red, she wheeled about and returned to following him. When he stopped at a apartment, she alighted on his shoulder once again.

He opened the door  and …

The. Hokage. Was. Already. There.

He winced, and shut the door, looking guilty then plastering a grin on his face. “JIJI!”

The Hokage turned and smiled, pipe in hand. Then he caught sight of her, and his mouth dropped in shock. “Naruto…” he said in awe.

“Yeah Jiji?”

“That bird on your shoulder…” he began.

“What about her?” Naruto looked interested, but slightly afraid. Erilanis too was curious as what he was going to say.

“There is a story about birds like those. They are pure creatures and will only allow one human who they’ve chosen to touch and bond with. My dear boy… it seems you’re her person.”
