A Cinder-Fella Story

I lay on my bed looking at the photo of my beautiful parents, I missed them so much but it's life as I put it down back on my nightstand I hear screaming and yelling and I realized its time for my daily routine of serving my stepmother and siblings..as I make my bed quickly and head into the kitchen.

I see My step brothers wrestling with each other making their mother yell at them "Graham! Andrew enough get ready for school..Marco where's my coffee?" I sigh and serve her a fresh cup "Here you are Michelle..and excuse me I'm gonna head to school"

as I grabbed my bag she pulled me back "Not so fast, you haven't done the dishes" I look behind her and see the mountain of filth and grime, I shiver at the thought "I don't have time Michelle, I'm gonna be late" she glared at me "Now Marco, and I better not see that mess when I return from taking the twins"

she left and I groan in annoyance I dropped my bag and start cleaning the mess as I finished and ran as fast as I could to school, I made it with 5 minutes to go, as I reached my locker I saw the girl of my dreams, she had beautiful long blonde hair and the most beautiful blue eyes I ever saw on a girl beside Jackie Lynn her best friend

"Earth to Marco" I look and see Janna looking at me with a smirk "Why are you late?" "The witch, that's who" she laughs and I watch star walk by giggling with her friends as I look I see her lock lips with her boyfriend...Tom he's no good for her "Yo, why don't you go talk to her?"

I blushed and shook my head "No, she wouldn't want to talk to me, I'm awkward and too quiet I doubt she'll be into me and besides she has a boyfriend" Janna seemed to have hearts on her eyes "Yeah she does..um pretend you didn't hear me, let's get to class"

I rolled my eyes as the day went on the twins were on my back all day, they are so annoying I can't wait to leave and live on my own "Hey dork, mom said you have to work tonight, she's busy and we have things to do"

I groan I hate working at her dumb diner which belonged to my parents, until she changed it to some random and weird name, I don't mind the people because they grew up with me and understand me, only reason they put up with her is because of me

"Okay" he pushed me and messed with my hair and I groan watching him leave. "Just a few months and I'm 18 and I can leave this horrible life for good" I mumbled as I walked towards that awful diner.

When I arrived I see familiar faces and I actually felt at home "Hey guys" "Marco!" I smiled as they gave me a hug, they felt more like family then the others did. "How was school?" Alexander asked "Alright the twins wouldn't leave me alone" he sighs

"I wish your father left you in my hands instead of that witch!" I chuckled "Its okay, just a few months and I'll be gone and on my own" he pats my back and gets back to work and I get dressed in my waiter outfit.

As I come out I clean the tables and set them up and start taking people's orders until I heard giggling and saw it was star and her group of friends "Why are we here Star? We could've gone somewhere more private" she pushed his face away and I smirked from my spot

"Stop, I want a burger from here..it reminds me of my childhood" I blush, she isn't lying. Star loved the burgers here, she would come in every weekend to just eat my dad's famous burgers and fries because it was made out of love.

I took a deep breath and walked towards their table and waited "How can I help you?" I waited and noticed Tom glare at me a bit before laughing and whispering something into his friends ear. I could care less what he's talking about

"Can I get the burger platter? Please and thank you" star said handing me the menu and I smiled "Sure, anything else?" "Strawberry milkshake" I nodded and looked at her friends of they going to order something. "Are you guys gonna order anything?"

They shook their head until Jackie spoke "I just want a chocolate milkshake" she handed me the menu and the rest did as well "It'll be out soon" they nod and i move quickly without looking up i bump into Nancy and all the dirty plates and cups cover me

"Wow! Way to go diner maid!" Tom yelled and the rest started chanting it "Tom! That's not nice! Stop it!" I looked back and saw star smacking Tom and pushing him out of her way. I expected her to leave but she came to my side and helped me up

"Are you okay?" I lowered my eyes "Don't worry about me I'm used to it star" she raised a brow "How'd you know my name?" "School? Your Captian of the cheerleading squad, miss perfect and popular" I started picking up the mess and Star looked at me

"I'm sorry for Tom" I smiled "You shouldn't be saying sorry for his behavior, you also don't belong with a guy that acts like a little kid because he gets what he wants. Thanks for the help though" I walked away towards the back and just waited for them to go

"Star! Let's go!" Her boyfriend was at the door with the others and she lingered in the spot I left her at "Star!" He walked towards her and she looked at him "Go and leave! I'm not leaving until I get my burger" "Are you for real? Fine who needs you.." Star looked tired all of his complaining "Just Go! Leave!"

He looked furious when he stormed out of the diner towards his expensive car "Finally.." she said calmly and I smiled, but she looked a little confused and annoyed but seem to push through. "Sorry for the wait" I came and placed the burger and milkshake in front of her

"Its alright, maybe I'll take your advice someday Marco" I smirked "You do know my name" "Yeah, took me a while but I figured it out" we chuckled a bit and I sat beside her and just talked. But I know this will be over by tomorrow and I'll be a ghost in her shadows.
