"I'm not sure what to do." Corrie rubs his face with his hand and blinks hard, like if he blinked hard enough he could wake up from this nightmare."Tell him. Nobody likes to be lied to," Devon says, almost passively aggressive. He takes a sip of his coffee before picking his phone up off the table.
"Yeah, but nobody likes knowing the truth if it'll hurt them."
They're back in the coffee shop. It's been a few days since Corrie walked in on the uncomfortable and utterly disgusting make out session between Ophelia and Graham. Corrie's still conflicted.
"Hey, suga'!" Amanda, Mandy for short, says. She's the waitress Devon skipped school for. She looks Devon in the eye and smiles at him. She completely ignores Corrie.
"Hi, Mandy," Devon greets. He smiles back and takes a gulp of his drink. Corrie's definitely giving her his best death glare.
"What's up? What're y'all doing today?" She looks at both of them, hands on her hips. "I'd love to see more of the city!"
Devon goes to say something but Corrie beats him to it. "Not much to see, honestly," Corrie says bitterly.
"Really?" She says, pushing her hair away from her face. "Devon showed me quite a bit a couple of days ago!" She cheers.
"Is that so?" Corrie asks sarcastically. "He has a way of making things seem like they're something they're not." Corrie takes a sip from his coffee mug as Devon tilts his head. Yeah, he's still angry about Devon missing school to be with the hottie from the south. Devon hasn't even told him what happened yet.
"What?" Devon asks, confused. "Are you angry at me?"
Mandy looks over to Corrie then back to Devon. "You didn't tell him?"
"Tell him what?" Devon asks Mandy.
"Tell me what?" Corrie asks both of them, more confused than ever.
"I think I know what's going on here, sugas'," Mandy says, one hip pointed out. Her curly blonde hair frames her face nicely. Even thought Corrie doesn't like her, he'd still sleep with her.
"That makes one of us," Corrie mutters under his breath. "What the actual fuck is going on?"
Mandy smiles before taking a deep breath. Devon's still very confused, and sighs heavily. He runs his hand through his recently dyed, bleach blonde hair.
"You think Devon cheated on you with me while he was out of school. He hasn't told you that nothing happened and that I'm not even into guys!" She explains with a smile afterward. "Look, I'm not looking to steal Devon. I'm here to help him. And you."
Corrie looks at her, mouth wide open. Then he looks at Devon even more confused.
"What?" Corrie rubs his temple.
Devon blushes red before standing up. "I think we should go somewhere private..." he trails off and looks to Mandy.
Mandy nods her head and starts toward the back of the shop. Devon follows behind her. Corrie takes a moment and a long gulp of coffee (mixed with vodka) and goes after them.
The back room is narrow. It's filled with shelves stacked with items. Everything is so close together only one person can stand with their back to the door between the shelves. In fact, Devon and Corrie are pushed so close together that they would only have to lean a little bit to kiss each other.
"Can you please tell me what the frickle frackle is going on now?" Corrie almost screams. He's so frustrated. Nobody is ever telling him the truth. He's lying to everybody and everybody is lying to him.
