*TRIGGER WARNING: this chapter talks about the Bible and God's view of homosexuality. I personally do not believe what is in this chapter, nor do I believe every Christian believes what is stated.
This chapter also contains major homophobia. I'm obviously not homophobic otherwise I wouldn't be writing this story, but this may hurt. This chapter is a pretty rough one. Duly note that this chapter will be recapped in 34, but it's not as terrible as it could be.*
"Is everything okay?" Devon's voice pulls Corrie out of his trance.
"Hmm?" Corrie looks over at Devon who's toying with the teddy bear Bradley brought him. There aren't any windows in his room, unfortunately. He still hasn't been taken off suicide watch, even though he feels as though he proved that he wasn't going to try anything.
"I've been talking to you for a solid five minutes and you probably haven't heard one thing I've said, have you?"
Corrie almost feels bad before seeing Devon crack a small smile, "I'm sorry, really. I've got a shit-ton on my mind. Tell me again."
Devon giggles, making Corrie grin. "It's obviously not as interesting as what you're thinking about. I'm all ears."
"It's nothing important," Corrie promises. He wants to talk about it, but he doesn't want to burden Devon.
"Tell me," Devon whines. It's so adorable that Corrie breaks. He never used to be this person, the one who would let their walls down at one little coo.
Corrie sighs, "shit."
"What happened?" Devon pats the empty bed bed space beside him. Corrie hops off his chair and lays down next to Devon.
"I fucked up, like always," Corrie says frowning.
"It's Bradley, isn't it?" Devon asks, looking Corrie in the eyes. Devon knows Corrie so well, it's scary. Or maybe Devon doesn't really know Corrie, he just knows their pattern.
"Of course," Corrie sighs. Corrie closes his eyes, hoping to forget what he did and said. He was just so angry he was seething. "He was being so selfish."
"What happened?" Devon stares at the ceiling. He feels like the blood rushes to his head, which is impossible because his whole body is lying at the same level. He turns on his side and is greeted by Corrie's face.
Devon notices how Corrie has blue circles under his eyes. Devon frowns, and Corrie frowns in return.
"When you frown it makes me sad," Corrie pouts, hoping to lead Devon away from the Bradley thing.
"When you try to distract me it makes me annoyed," Devon says sing-songily. He grins, making Corrie smile a little bit in return. "Just tell me and then we make out just a little bit before I have to practice."
"You know how Ophelia was cheating?" Corrie looks at Devon who nods his head. "Yeah, well, I kind of forgot to inform Bradley that she was cheating with his dad. And then Bradley had to find out for himself." Corrie waits for Devon's response, like yelling and screaming.
Instead, Corrie is greeted by Devon's lips on his. Corrie grins into the kiss, and closes his eyes. They don't get as far as Corrie hoped because his door opens. The creaking causes Devon to pull apart, his cheeks flushed and lips swollen and red.
Corrie huffs and looks up to see who's at the door, and is baffled by the person standing their. Her jaw has gone slack in shock.
Corrie jumps off the bed, standing in front of Devon like some sort of shield. His heart hammers, and his palms are starting to hurt from his nails digging into them.
