Diana's P.O.V

"What will we do now?? " Claire asked with a huff.

"I lead ye both back to the castle and make sure no one touches ya. " Jamie answered and walked deeper into the stables moving a stack of hay on a big brown barrel.

"I can't go back. " Claire backed away shaking her head looking worried.

"I might have walloped Dougal over the head with a chair... " Claire said now looking extremely worried making both me and Jamie look at Claire then at eachother bursting out laughing. Claire looked taken a back.

"Did his breathe reak of whiskey? " I asked calming down and she slowly nodded.

"He won't remember anything.  " Jamie simply stated with a smile on his face.

"Now c'mon I know bout a tunnel leading to the outside of castle Leoch.  " Jamie said taking out his hand for Claire to take.  She nodded somehow with  grace and  took a hold of it. Jamie helped her get through the small opening and then took his hand out for me to take. I just stood there motionless.

"Ye coming lass?" He asked and I shook my head.

"Go ahead I'll meet you's at the feast. " I said pushing off the wall and walking out the way we came in.

"I don't want anything happening to ye lass so come along. " Jamie's voice stopped me and I turned around to face him.

"I can take care of myself besides I need to check something out alri. " I stated turning around and walking off into the dark forest not  bothered to listen to Jamie's voice pleading me to come back.

I hummed a song I once heard on the radio at Roberts place.  I couldn't really remember what it was called but definitely remember the first time I met Robert and it was all because of a radio.

Flashback

I was walking through the icy snow covered streets of London with a furry coat and warm clothes I stole along with a golden watch hidden under the sleeve from the coldness of winter.

The cars made their way through the streets making the place noisy and steam was coming out from warm restaurants and cafes.  The city was full of lights and the residents laughed happy that Christmas has arrived.

Snowflakes were falling making my dark brown hair wet yet the natural curled ends stayed.

I could hear sweet music coming out of the building I was walking past and the curiosity got the best of me.  Of course the source was luring me in and I wanted to steal it as a Christmas gift from me to me.  I know very sad but I was alone and didn't really mind.

For a twelve year old I was sneaky and very good at stealing.  Silently entering through one of the opened windows into a warm room with a fire place.  The room wasn't decorated and didnt have the Christams vibe to it.  All there was was a big wooden desk with a stack of papers on it and wooden shelves with some kind of documents on them.

The sweet melody I was following came from a big weird looking device  making me scrunch up my eyebrows in confusion.

Being the usual me I decided to look through the room.  Gently and quietly I opened each drawer and looked through them.  I started from bottom to top so when I opened the last top drawer I came upon a gun. At a young age I knew how a gun looked like, I had many encounters with it.

Taking a hold of it I admired the outside all made out of silver. I could see my reflection in it clearly.  My cheeks looked rosy and my eyes a blinding ocean  blue. The heaviness bothered me after a while so I put it in the waistband of my trousers.

Seeing that I have looked through the whole room I was going to take the radio when a click of a lock was heard making me hide behind the desk with the gun out. I didn't want to be heard but my heavy breathing didn't go unheard.

"Who's there? " A boyish  voice belonging to a teenager asked closing the door. The footsteps became louder which meant the person was close.  I usually got out of situations like these. I knew I would have to kill him to get out.

Everything became silent and disturbing.

"Ah!" I squeaked as someone picked me up.

"Got you you little rat! " The boy  said taking the gun off me and sitting me on a chair.

Putting the gun away he looked at me with shock?  Why shock?

"What's a little girl like you doing here stealing my gun? " He asked and at that moment I wanted the ground to swallow me.

"I dont know I'm really sorry it's a habit.. Whenever something catches my attention I take it please let me go!!!" I said my fast talking a clear sign that I was panicking.  His eyes softened.

"Where are your parents? "He asked kneeling down to my eye level.

"I don't have parents I'm alone. " I stated with a monotone voice clearly showing that I don't care.

"I'm Robert. "The boy said sincerely taking out his hand for me to shake it.

"Delilah. " I whispered studying him.  He looked well built with a killer jawline and soft brown eyes matching his blonde sandy hair.

"Let's get you something to eat." He said taking me off guard and taking me by the hand, leading me somewhere .  We walked out the door and entered a massive kitchen.

"June!!! " Robert shouted and right on cue a strict looking lady came in dressed as a maid,.

"I want Delilah fed, bathed and clothed properly.  Put her in one of the spare bedrooms at nine I have some business to take care of and when I come back and as much as one hair on her head  is missing I will make sure you won't make it to tomorrow. " He stated with a dangerous voice and  a serious threatening facial expression making me a bit scared too.  June looked like she was going to pee her pants.

"Yes sir." She said shakily.

"I will be back soon if u want anything tell June okay. " He said smiling, pushing me towards  June.

"Okay." I answered with my childish voice.

End of flashback

Only a year later I found out he became a gangleader at the age of 14. There's only four year difference between us and my nickname for him was old man because he usually acted like that around people all uptight and dangerous looking. When we were alone he relaxed and smiled and laughed you would never guess he was the same person that could kill someone with his bare hands. He was a father and brother all in one.

I stopped thinking about the life I left behind for a short period of time and decided to concentrate and get back to investigating the grounds. Jamie said there was more guards blocking the way than usual but what if our escape route could be underground. If there's a tunnel leading from the stables to the castle there is bound to be more of underground passage ways like these.

From what I learned off from a history  book I once found in Roberts office ages ago every castle or crannog had a way out, a hidden way only the ones occupying it knew. The tunnels weren't easily spotted and were usually used as fridges too. If the Mackenzies had that castle for a few centuries passed down to each generations they also got the secrets of it passed down too.

And I will find out the secrets of that castle making our escape possible.  I will work fast and hopefully I will get us out of here in a space of two days.
