Chapter Seven

“Renesmee...” A low voice spoke into my ear. “Renesmee...time to wake up...” As well as the voice there was a soft stroking on my arm. I smiled through my sleep and curled closer to the warm body beside me.

“Let me sleep...” I moaned through my tiredness.

“Normally I would, but your father wants you to be ready for a training session or something....” Lips nudged the soft, sensitive space below my ear.

“Right. The training. I promised...”  Even as I was speaking I was drifting off again. Drifting off into the place of dreams.

“And you should defiantly keep that promise...” Strong hands lifted me into a sitting position, dragging me from the one place I wanted to be.

“Jacob, stop!” I giggled, my own feeble hands trying to push away his from mine. The hands stopped at once. “Who’s Jacob?” Came the unexpected reply. The smile was wiped from my face as I realised the mistake I had made. Nahuel. Nahuel was the one who was caressing my body and making me feel loved. It was Nahuel. The one who meant everything to me.

“Someone I know,” I subtly checked my body for clothing. I was relieved to find that I was fully clothed and in my pyjamas. “Obviously, you have been lying to me, Cullen,” A furious voice answered, the hands sliding from my body and taking away the heat and safety that came from them.

“Wait!” I grabbed for the hand that that had been moving away. “I can explain! He’s a werewolf and he imprinted on me, but I think he’s bitter about something but I don’t know what and I asked dad to keep him away because he was being to possessive and I hate feeling like I’m owned by someone,” I took a deep breath to try and calm myself down. After my sudden mouth diarrhoea I was wondering if I had anything left in me.

“Back up, back up. He’s a werewolf?”

“Yeah. There’s a pack of them down at La Push. They aren’t Children of the Moon though, just shifters,”

“You said the he imprinted on you? A vampire hybrid?”

I nodded, wondering where Nahuel with the careful voice was taking this conversation. “That could be potentially dangerous for you and him. Not to mention your family!”

“What?” I could feel my fingers digging into his hand, I was holding onto him for protection so hard.

“You need to get dressed,” Nahuel quickly changed the subject, leaving me hanging. “I’ll have to speak to your father,”

I moved from the bed without making a sound. Before I could reach the bathroom door, Nahuel caught my arm.

“Renesmee...I didn’t meant to be so...so jealous,” He admitted, bravely.

“It’s alright. I meant to tell you about him, but in all of the excitement I simply forgot...” I trailed off as Nahuel pulled me into his arms.

“I love you, Renesmee Cullen,” He kissed my forehead and slid his fingers through my, now tangled, hair. “I should get dressed,” I pulled away from him slightly and pressed a hand to his cheek, feeling the smoothness and warmth beneath my fingertips.

It didn’t take me long to find something to wear, jeans and a long sleeved t- shirt were all that I needed for today. No reason to try and look like a model.

Nahuel took my hand in his and lead me carefully down the stairs and turned right into the kitchen. “Breakfast?” he offered.

I shrugged. “I thought you wanted to talk to my dad,”
