Yes, the infamous bikini region!
There are so many rules and products and treatments to get rid of unwanted hair down there and it can get frustrating when you hear that you need to do this or you need to do that. So do you really need to do anything for your bikini zone? This may be a touchy topic for some people so if you don't want to be reading this, I suggest you skip this page and go to another one on Affirmations.
Not many people are comfortable talking about what situation their bikini zone is in. And a lot of girls are pressured to wax or shave down there, but do you have to??
No, you don't. If you don't want to, there is no reason why you should. You are saving yourself the hassle and probably pain if you decide not to. If you shave, you have to do it a certain way otherwise you can get wicked razor burn and get bumps. Trust me, razor burn sucks. It itches and it so very uncomfortable. And that is just razor burn in general! Can you imagine that happening down there?! Yikes! Talk about uncomfortable.
And then there is waxing! Most usually, women go into a waxing place to get their bikini zone waxed. I have heard that waxing your lower regions is painful and just not fun. Plus, you are very exposed to the person who is waxing you. For me, that would make me very uncomfortable and nervous. Ain't nobody need to see me that exposed!
Now, I am not trying to tell you what to do for your hair. Everyone has their own preference. Some like having their bikini zone trimmed, shaped, or completely gone. It is just a matter of what you like.
It is nerve wracking, especially during the summer, to be constantly thinking if you have any hair exposed. I have been told a story of a girl who didn't know her bikini zone was rather exposed and everyone saw her hair because she didn't make sure it was covered. And sadly, no one politely told her that her bathing suit needed to be adjusted. That is why many women decide to wax or shave that region of their body. And in some cases, it is just easier. Especially if you are a particularly hairy person.
But keeping that area under maintenance can cost money, time, and effort. It is certainly like trying to maintain a yard that is very grassy. I know this is probably one of the weirdest things you would ever read and maybe uncomfortable, but I find that this is a topic that not many people are willing to discuss because it is such a private area.
So now to the part of you! Whatever you decide to do concerning hair removal for your bikini zone, you should not be ashamed or embarrassed of your choice. It is totally up to you and you should feel comfortable with that decision. If you want to trim things up, there is no shame in that. Many women prefer having their bikini zone tidied up. If you are uncomfortable with removing hair down there, you totally don't have to! There are plenty of people who prefer to be au natural and just keep things how they are. So no matter what you choose to do, don't let anyone shame you or try to for that decision.
This can fall under the Body Hair chapter, too. If you shave, great! If not, great! Don't worry about it. And not a lot of people see your bikini area anyway so there isn't much to be concerned about.
Be confident in your body and how it looks and what you choose to do with the hair that grows on it.
If this is rambly and all over the place, I apologize! I wasn't really sure how to go about this topic and word it right. But I do suggest that if you do decide to try any form of hair removal for your bikini zone, do some research first! It will help you in the long run, trust me!
