I looked around the classroom. A good number of students were falling asleep, or already were. I yawned. History really isn't anyone's favorite subject, especially if its not talking about legends. My head was about to hit the table drowsily when the teacher hit the ruler on the chalk board, pointing at something she wrote. Immediately, multiple heads jerked up, startled by the sharp noise.

The Raichu on the teacher's desk seemed to giggle. The teacher didn't take notice, her pokemon did that all the time. A browned hair girl on my left tapped my shoulder, making me jump, thankfully, no one else noticed. "What is it Sara?" I whispered to the girl. Sara grinned. "It's battle training after this, and today we ended up in the same class." Said Sara, a big smile on her face.

Okay, okay, let me explain high school here. We have a pretty small population of students, roughly 40 per grade, which makes a total of 160 students. Contrary to other schools in the pokemon regions, we bring our six pokemon team to school, if we want that is, but we always have to bring one. There are multiple classes, but my schedule is the following- Math, Science, Pokémon research , History, Battle training.

Math and science are what you would expect in a normal school, history too I guess. Pokémon research focuses on egg types, egg groups and egg moves, mostly pokemon breeding, but we also take a look at its description and abilities, height, stats, ect.

Battle training is everyone's favorite, if its not than you're an idiot. Each student has battle training last thing in the day. All the grades are divided in groups, different each day. They are mostly made by the type of pokemons you brought to school that day, they do check your pokemons in between classes we cant bring our pokemons in. I wouldn't be surprised if today I got Fire type, since that's pretty much the only pokemon type me and Sara have in common. She has a Growlithe and a Cyndaquil, I have a Lampent.

Since I'm at it, I better tell you my pokemons. I have a Lampent, a Flygon, a Fraxure, a Nincada, an Eevee and a Gible. I've owned Flygon since I hatched her from an egg, She's nearly as old as me. I got Fraxure and Lampent second, found both tangled up in wires, wounded. They were an Axew and a Litwick back then. My cousin gave me his Eevee for a while, but the little pokemon got too attached to me and he let me keep it. My mother gave me a Nincada after she bred her Ninjask, she's still getting used to me. Gible is my first caught wild pokemon, and my only caught wild pokemon. He isn't very tamed yet, he chewed up my shoes yesterday morning so my feet are cold, why did he have to do it in winter?

Flygon, Lampent, Eevee and Fraxure are the only ones with a nickname. Flygon is FireFly(dont ask), Lampent is Zodiac, Eevee was named by my cousin, who named her Myst and Fraxure is named Drake.

Back to the present world now, suddenly history didn't seem so bad, although i spent the remaining 15minutes of the class staring at the clock. And I know i wasn't the only one. As soon as it hit 3:30pm, everyone was out in under a minute, I'm not even exaggerating.

I waited for Sara at the classroom door. She didn't take long. She smiled wildly at me. "So what's the battle class today?" I asked, not able to keep my excitement. "Fire Type I think, but I'm not sure." She replied.

We went down the stairs, our school has three levels, the first floor, second floor and the basement. The pokemon are purely restricted to the first floor during classes, but are allowed in the basement in the pauses. As soon as we arrive on the first floor, most of our pokemons just jump us, as if they hasn't seen us for months. FireFly hovered above me, very happy to see me. I smile at the Flygon and petted her head when she glided down once she saw a place big enough to land. The school has high ceiling on the first floor and the basement, purely for flying pokemons. Myst had already climbed up to my arm and was purring her species name happily. Nincada was probably on my back, im not really sure. Zodiac was floating around my head, distracting me heavily. I hadn't brought Gible today, because of the shoe problem. Drake seemed to be smiling.

Sara's pokemon did the same to her, her cyndaquil chanted his name happily while hopping in circles around her. I looked around, every one's pokemon did that.

I took another look around, looking for Jonathan, another friend of mine, but he was nowhere to be seen, must've already went to his battle training class.

"Hey, bells about to ring" Said Sara. I looked at the clock, wow, time sure does fly. "This way" Sara grabbed my arm and pulled me to the basement, door 45b. Battle training is always in the basement, for obvious reasons.

We had to wait a few minutes for the tragic jam of students to clear, but we got in the class. I imeadiatly recognized the teacher, he was the Fire Type teacher, Alfred

"Okay kids, send out you fire type pokemon, if you have more then one than choose one" Said Alfred.

I looked at Zodiac, the Ghost-Fire type smilled at me and took position next to me while the other pokemons backed away or flied up.

I glanced at Sara, her loyal Growlithe was sitting beside her.

Alfred walked around the class, looking at each Fire type(the classrooms for the battle training are HUGE)

"Okay, I will pair you up, and for goodness sakes, try to not light the building on fire" Said the teacher in a joking tone.

I was paired with an 11th grade student (im in 12th). He had a hyper little Vulpix. It was kind of cute, it couldn't keep still.

The pokemons advanced in the middle of the room, making two lines of pokemons and another line of trainers behind each of the pokemon lines. There was also two scattered line of water types behind us, the water pokemons belonging to other students had come closer in case of emergency. I didn't have a water type, not yet.

"Unless the opposing pokemon is dual typed, your moves will not be super effective, this is for the best, we don't have a built in pokemon center. Do any of you have status inflicting moves?" Asked Alfred.

I raised my hand, so did a few other trainers. Zodiac knew Will-o-Whisp.

Alfred inspected each pokemon with status inflicting moves. When he came to Zodiac, he asked me."Is his ability Flame Body?"

I nodded. Zodiac had that ability, and i bet that's why Myst sometimes ended up whit burns.

Once the teacher finished inspecting the pokemons. He declared "Try a battle until any of the two pokemons gives up, no making the other pokemon faint!"

Zodiac and the Vulpix eyes each other, both had a mean look in their eyes. The Vulpix moved first, jumping at Zodiac, its fangs blazing with the move Fire Fang. Zodiac was probably expecting that trick and easily dodged. A dark blob then appeared in front of him and was thrown at the fox pokemon. The Vulpix blinked as the move hit it, but counter attacked with bite, catching Zodiac. The Lampent was trown back, but attacked again with Will-O-Whisp. Vulpix was burned, but not badly, it didnt give up. It attempted Fire Fang again, this time, hitting Zodiac hard. Both pokemon paused, then looked their trainers, they had both given up at the same time.

Vulpix healed of its burned and looked happy, smiling at me and Zodiac, the Lampent returned the smile cheerfully. I looked at Sara's growlithe, it was facing a Flareon. I watched intently as both pokemon counter attacked, nine of them missed. Finally, the Flareon, exhausted, called defeat.

Albert continued talking for most of the class about the type effectiveness and different moves. I was only listening when he demonstrated the moves whit his Charzard.

After the class, I looked for Jonathan again, but still didn't find him. Someone told me he had to leave for an appointment.

"HEY!" Sara nearly yelled behind me, making me jump. I turned to face her, a smile on my face. "Watcha doing this weekend?" She asked. It just hit me, we're Friday! "I dont think im doing anything, why?" I asked. "Just askin" she replied with a smile before returning her pokemon to pokeballs and jumping on her bus.
