I jumped over the daycare fence. My mother owns the city's daycare.  The few pokemons there played in the snow, and I myself almost slipped on some ice patch.  I should probably get this clear, I dont live with my mother, we live in two difrent houses, I just wanted to help my mother. I found her, in the kitchen, preparing some food for the pokemons. Her Ninjask and Shedinja hovered closely behin her. Her Scorlipede and Larvesta where curled up and sleepng in the corner of the room. My mother likes bug pokemons, a lot.

I let my pokemons play in the daycare yard while i helped my mother.  She looked at me. "How was shcool?" She asked.  I shrugged. "Same old, but i ended up with Sara in battle training."

The doorbell rang. "Can you go get it?" Asked my mother while i was already heading for the door.

As soon as i opened the door. "Lampent" Said the floating pokemon. No, its not Zodiac, i know this Lampent, its my friend's. Jonathan was indeed standing there, he was going to push the dorrbell again actually. "Oh hey Ashley" He said as a greeting.

"Leaving a pokemon here?" I asked

"Eh, came to pick one up actually"

"Oh yeah, you left your.. uh.. Lairon i think?"

"Yeah"

I invited him in. It was already growing dark outside and i was freezing just standing near the door.  My mother didnt mind, Most teenagers our age went to other's house, heck, i could sleep at Sara's house anytime if i wanted to. "If your freezing you can go near Larvesta, he's almost always burning hot" Said my mother, carying some food over in the pokemon shelter, which most pokemon in the day care where already going in because of the cold. Jonathan shook his head. "I'm fine"

His lampent and mine kept floating in circles around each other. "I can't stay very long, got a bunch of chores to do at my house" Said Jonathan. He glanced at his Lampent, who was upside down. "Can I get my Lairon now?" He asked, his tone indicating a joke.

I smiled slightly. "MOM! HIS POKEMON!" I yelled. I heard my mother yell something back, but I didn't quite understand. She came back a few moments later and gave the pokeball to Johnny(that's his nickname).

He left soon after, and I had to get to my house too.

I slammed the door once all my pokemon got in. I looked at the clock across in the kitchen. 9:56pm. I was sleepy already, and I usually stay up late when its not a school night. I placed my jacket on he hangers and glanced at the living room, Gible was already asleep on the couch, we didn't even wake him up when we arrived.

My house consist of the living room, kitchen and dining room stuck together, no walls. Once you go left from the entrance, there's stairs going down to the basement and some going up to the second floor. The second floor doesn't go over the living room, instead it stays on the left side of the house. Downstairs is the basement, just a big, empty room with a tad bit too much mirrors. All the walls are covered with the reflective surface there. I never bothered to remove them.

Upstairs is where the rooms are, there is 5 rooms, not counting the large, but not too long hallway/room that unites them. One is my bedroom, two are guest rooms and the other two are spares, one is where Firefly sleeps while the other is storage. Gible usually sleeps downstairs. Drake sleeps in a corner of my room, Myst sleeps on my bed, Nincada sleeps wherever she can fit and Zodiac, well, heck I don't even know if he sleeps.

I flopped onto my bed, face first. Myst copied me, she always copies people. Drake curled up in his corner while Firefly and Nincada where probably already asleep somewhere. I found it funny, but didn't take notice that everyone in the house was abnormally tired. I should've paid more attention, but I was already asleep. Hell, if I knew what kind of night it would be...

"Eevee!" The pokemon squeaked. I groaned. "EEVEE!" Yelled Myst. I turned, but didn't open my eyes. "Drake?" I asked sleepily. "Fraxure?" Came the reply of the dragon-type. "What time is it?"

The pokemon hit his right foot on the floor twice. 2am, great. "Lampent! Lampent!" A purple light shone in my face, effectively waking me up. "Zodiac! Dafuq?" I pushed the lantern pokemon away and glanced at the door. Gible and Firefly were looking at me anxiously. Ninacada was up on my fish tank. (Which didn't contain any pokemon at the time, I had all moved them to the bigger aquarium downstairs.)

I got up, only now noticing that I was still wearing a hoodie and all my casual day clothes.  How did I fall asleep so fast? I made my was downstairs, the Feebas in my tank staring at me, her wide eyes showed the same fear as my other pokemon.

Let me describe Feebas. She's not really a part of my team, she never got in a fight actually. She's more of a pet. I am as attached to her as my other pokemon, and I'm pretty sure she would be a powerful pokemon if I used her in battle. She's a pet, and a doubt she'll ever fight. She doesn't even have a pokeball.

Her tank was more like a large tub than an actual fish tank. I used to have two luvdiscs, but I gave them to my cousin, he had more time to take care of them. I was originally going to give Feebas as well but my cousin refused. I never knew why.

I stroked the back of the fish pokemon. "It's okay, why are you all scared anyways?" I looked at my other pokemon, but they were all staring at the door. I looked down at Feebas, she was also looking at the door. "Heck, what's up with you guys tonight?" I asked as I opened the door. It seemed stupid, but I never realised it, I was outside, in knee-deep snow, in the middle of winter. Worst of all, I was not freezing. No big jackets, no shoes, and it felt like early summer. I should of been worried or creeped out, but my mind was on other things.

My pokemon, apart from Myst, which was the only one not scared, followed me hesitantly. Sudenly, everything froze, the wind, which I had not noticed till now, stopped and all my pokemon looked at the sky. I followed their gaze and saw it, it was rather dark, you had to look carefully to see it, but it was there, falling through the air, as it got closer it started to glow a fait red before crashing into the woods near my house. No one else would've seen it, to late and too dark. It made little to no sound when it crashed.

Myst took off toward the crash location. I did no approve of the Eevee's choice, but I still followed her, and the other pokemon followed me.

There was a small clearing, there ALWAYS was a small clearing there. The object was lying in the middle, strange patterns in the snow, which was much like unbreakable ice in the clearing, came out from where it landed. The patterns looked like a six-pointed star or something.

The object was some kind of sphere, irregular shaped. It was a black, slightly transparent crystal. it sent out a strange, red aura around it, its hard to explain really. You know when you see a ray of light coming down from a cloudy day? It looked a lot like that, but is was red and reached only about a meter around the crystal.

Myst stopped short half a meter before the aura. She just froze. She then looked at me, the playfulness replaced with fear. She then definitely slid towards me as a shadow flew over the clearing. It was a pokemon, I was sure, but I couldn't make out the details. It landed on the opposite side of the fallen object. I still couldn't make out what it was, too dark. I wasn't very big, maybe two meters? The pokemon looked at me, I think at least. "You shouldn't be here" Said a clearly masculine voice. Telepathy. "I fell asleep too fast and woken up too early" I said, kind of scared. The shape shuffled. "I know, you're the only one in the town that had this happen. You were chosen, however strange that sounds." Said the telepathic.

I backed away. "I can't take advice from a pokemon, whether it is talking or not!" I hissed. The shape didn't even twitch. "There are 50 of these stones, each different, each with its own power." Continued the pokemon, ignoring my remark. "Why should I listen to you?" I backed away even more. The pokemon growled, but Firefly growled back, going in front of me protectively. "Your pokemon do care about you, human. I'd recommend taking the stone. It's your choice, I'm just a messenger." The telepathic seemed to turn around to leave. "Wait!" I yelled. The pokemon paused. "Who are you?" I asked. "Call me MoonShard" The pokemon took off, and I still didn't know what it even was.

I thought a second, about the word of MoonShard, I didn't know if I should trust him, whoever he was. I finally decided to take the crystal.

how I would regret that choice...
