A Day Out

It's been a week since I was admitted into the hospital, but I'm not quite back to health yet. I have reoccurring nightmares of that time in captivity almost every night; it's almost impossible to get a good night's sleep, and the doctors say I'm still not at a healthy weight.

Although I'm not completely recovered yet, I got a notice from court that states I'll have to go as a witness against my kidnapper and rapist. The trial will be next week.

Honestly it terrifies me to see them again. Their faces haunt my dreams at night and thoughts during the day. I know that I'm protected. I know they can't hurt me anymore, but at the same time I still have this fear that they'd do it again as soon as the protection slips. The thought makes my heart stop in fear.

Just then Miyako-chan walked into my room with Jihye Unni.
"Lisa, how are you feeling?" Miyako-chan asked.
"We brought food! Hospital food gets boring so we bought some Chinese food," Jihye Unni said with a smile and put a container in front of me. I had actually never eaten Chinese food in Korea so when she sat a container full of noodles with a dark brown sauce in front of me I was a little surprised.
"What is this?" I asked.
"Jjajangmyeon! You've never had it before?" Jihye Unni asked, seeming surprised I'd never had it. I tried it and it was pretty good. Nothing like American Chinese food.

We ate for a while before Miyako-chan had to leave for an extra dance practice. Jihye Unni was suppose to go too but decided she wanted to stay with me a little longer and didn't care if she was late. She isn't very fond of dancing anyway.
After Miyako-chan left, Jihye Unni turned to me. Her doe-like eyes were on the brink of tears.
"Are you sure you're okay?" she asked, "With the trial coming up so soon after everything happened, there's no way you can be fine."
"Really, I'm alright," I tried to reassure her, but she shook her head.
"You're lying," she insisted. Those two words were all it took to break my armor entirely. The tears I had been fighting since the first day of treatment cascaded from my eyes. I curled into a little ball on my bed and covered my face with my hands. Jihye Unni sat me up and laid my head on her shoulder. I cried like a baby holding onto it's mother. She held me like that until my tears dried. By that time she had totally missed dance practice. I only knew dance practice was over because she started getting frantic calls from the other girls wanting to make sure she wasn't kidnapped too.

After my tears had dried, I sat back up and wiped my face. Jihye Unni had two big tear stains on her shirt, but it didn't seem like she cared. Instead of inspecting them, she just smiled and patted my head. "Tomorrow, let's go out. We can go shopping, get ice cream, whatever you want. It has to be terrible being holed up in this hospital," she offered.
"Yeah, it does get pretty boring," I tried to smile.
"Don't push yourself too hard, I'll come back tomorrow to pick you up. Now get some sleep, it's late," she said and left the room.

The next day Jihye Unni picked me up from the hospital along with Eunmi. She brought a change of clothes for me, it was a white lacy crop top and light blue high waisted shorts along with gray vans. It was nice to wear decent clothes since I've been stuck in a hospital robe for so long. I don't fill them out quite like I use to, I still have weight to gain, but I'm almost back to normal. Physically, anyway.

"Where do you want to go first?" Jihye Unni asked.
"I wanna go to the mall! I saw this really nice dress online and I've been saving up for it." Eunmi started.
"Okay, let's go to the mall. Are you cool with that, Lissa?" Jihye Unni asked me.
"Yeah," I answered, and then Eunmi started again.
"It's really nice, it's floral and really pretty. I think it would go well with pink lipstick. Maybe I could wear it with pink or white flats. While we're there, maybe we can stop by the music store and get EXO's new album. I love Chanyeol, he's my favorite. Oh! Maybe one day we can meet them! What if we meet them and me and Chanyeol fall in love?! We could sing to each other and he could give me flowers." Eunmi went on like that until we pulled into the mall parking lot, changing topics every 5 minutes.

Out excursion at the mall was basically just Eunmi taking us from store to store. She has a lot of energy, and sometimes she seems annoying, but she's just young and hasn't had any real problems in her life. I see her as a little sister I need to take care of, so she doesn't get on my nerves too much.

About an hour after we got to the mall, I saw a familiar face walking into a store.

"Did you guys just see J-Hope walking into Victoria's Secret?" I asked.
"Yeah, what could he be doing there?" Jihye Unni responded. We decided to follow him and see. I had a sneaking suspicion, but I didn't voice it.

As we walked into the store, we saw J-Hope looking at perfumes. He seemed really into it as he was smelling all of the different kinds and mulling over which one to buy. I've never seen him this focused.

"Hoseok Oppa?" I called. He was so startled he almost dropped the bottle he was holding.
"Lissa? What are you doing out of the hospital?" he asked.
"Jihye Unni and Eunmi took me out for a while, what are you doing here?" I inquired. He looked a little embarrassed and blushed just a tiny bit.
"I wanted to buy something for Miyako-chan... I know she likes girly stuff and things that smell good so I thought I'd get her perfume, but I'm not sure what kind she'll like," he said quietly.
"She likes vanilla. When I went on my first date with Namjoon Oppa she had me use her perfume and it was vanilla," I said, hoping it would help him.
"Why are you getting her a present?" This time he blushed harder.
"I wanted to ask her to be my girlfriend," he practically whispered.
"Really?!" Eunmi squealed, "You guys would be so cute!" J-Hope beamed at her remarks.
"Come on, let's let him shop," Jihye Unni said with a smirk. We left the store and continued shopping ourselves until we were bored.

I'm sorry it took so long for this chapter to come out. I've been so busy with school and work I haven't been able to write often. That's also why this chapter is much longer than the others. I usually write a whole chapter in one sitting, but I didn't have time to this time so I added to the chapter every time I had inspiration. Also, it seems like my last chapter wasn't a very big hit. For future reference I need bad feedback as well as good, please tell me when you don't like something and when you do so I know what to write more of and what to write less of. Thank you! I hope you enjoy the rest of the story!
