(Perhaps listen to Through Heaven's Eyes from The Prince of Egypt during this chapter)
Also I'm so so so sorry for not updating this in like a year, last time I checked it only had 100 reads so I just didn't bother and went to other fanfics, but at 500 reads I think this one deserves another chapter :)

Octavia remained with Lexa's people that day, meeting her cousin Lincoln, her sisters Anya and Luna as well as her father Gustus.

"Octavia, we welcome you into our home," Gustus gave the princess a huge smile. He was one of the most welcoming people Octavia had ever encountered, and she was grateful to have stumbled upon this wondrous family. Although she still did not believe in this God that the Arkadians and Trikru spoke of, she saw their teachings made them better people than the Egyptians ever were.

"Thank you," Octavia smiled at Gustus, her eyes drifting over everyone else in the small village.
"Come, let us eat and we shall honour you as our guest," Gustus bellowed in his jolly voice.
"Please don't say that," Octavia blushed. "I've not done anything in my life worth honouring..."
Gustus looked rather taken aback as he stared at Lexa who had a curious look on her face, as though she was seeing a new side to this foreign royal.
"Octavia," he knelt down next to her. "You saved my youngest daughter, Lexa, from Egypt and then you stand up for your people in slavery... Perhaps you don't know what honour is."
"Pardon?" Octavia asked.
"Let me explain," Gustus smiled. "See this single thread in the tapestry? It might see itself as unimportant. It's just a thread. But when you look at the pattern of the grand design, you can see just how important it is and how big a purpose it holds."

Octavia gave Gustus an incredibly confused look. Why was he babbling on about tapestries? Of course the thread was important, for without it there would be no tapestry. But what did that have to do with her honour?

"You must look at your life through Heaven's eyes," Gustus went on.
"You cannot see your worth through the eyes of man," Lincoln stepped forward and smiled at Octavia. "Just as the thread cannot see its wondrous purpose from its position in the tapestry."
"Exactly," Gustus nodded happily.
"But what's my worth?" Octavia laughed emptily. "I'm nobody special."
"How would you measure worth then?" Lincoln asked. "Size? Wealth? Strength?"
"By how much a person has gained, or how much they have given?" Gustus added.
Octavia couldn't help but think these were the two wisest and strangest men she'd ever met.

"But I've lost everything," Octavia protested. "I'm no Princess of Egypt anymore and I have little to give..."
"Well, when all you've got is nothing, there's a lot to go around!" Lincoln laughed. "Look at us! Our village isn't exactly rich, but we share what little we have and we rejoice in what we've been blessed with. Plus, why would matters like that matter to God?"
Octavia didn't have an answer.
"If someone loses everything they own," Gustus began, "does that truly mean they've lost their worth? Or do you think it could be the beginning of a new and brighter birth?"

Octavia pondered this. She'd lost everything in Egypt - her whole life was devastated. Yet here she had found herself in a new village with new people, and she was happier and could tell a much better person than when she had left. She'd lost her worth in a sense - she was nothing to Egypt now. But here, she had been reborn as someone new - someone Octavia preferred much more to her former regal self.

She looked up at Lincoln and Gustus with the biggest smile. She understood what they were saying now.

"You must look at your life through Heaven's eyes, not your eyes on Earth," Gustus nodded and smiled. "That is the way forward."

"Let us dance for our guest!" Lexa exclaimed, and the whole village rose in celebration of Octavia. She had never felt more blessed.

Eventually, Octavia had found herself living amongst the Trikru happily, as though she had been there her whole life. She bonded with Lexa and love bloomed between Lincoln and herself. She felt blessed, and quickly began to gain faith in God.

Ahh sorry this is so short but I gotta split this into two chapters haha <3
