I saved the text
In a draft far away
My mind swirling around
My eyes too filled to see

"I miss you"

I wrote for the blonde haired girl
Who had stayed with me in my world
Who was a shoulder to cry on
When my world was tumbling down

"But I don't miss you"

I don't miss the let downs
The cascades of tears
The periods of mutism, depression and numb
The rock that came crumbling down
Right beneath my feet

"I miss how we were"

The laughs, the catch ups, the phone calls, the lot
The plans to be best friends forever
But we just let them rot

"But I don't miss the way you were"

The two-facedness, being replaced, feeling like a huge mistake
A barricade of walls which crashed to the ground
As you were all safe and sound

"It was nice knowing you"

The shaking fingers wrote
Little did the blonde know, it was her "sister's" suicide note

"Goodbye D, so long and good night"
