After a few hours passed, they sent out a search party for this missing inspector. Searching anywhere they could for her whereabouts until they came across the abandoned building she had been held up in. Yayoi used her watch to scan the gorey mess of remains. It was confirmed to be Akane's kidnapper. It was odd that the inspector would eliminate him and then mysteriously disappear afterwards. They tracked her whereabouts through the watch on her wrist but lost a signal once they were close. Had the watch been destroyed? Shimotsuki had always been suspicious of her. She had concluded that she very well might have made them lose her on purpose. Shimotsuki would often hear Akane and Ginoza talk every once and a while about inspector Kogami. From they way she spoke, Mika knew that to her he was more than just a partner. He meant a lot more than that. "I know what's going on here!" She shouted. Everyone else came to a complete halt in their investigation. "She's with the traitor, otherwise known as ex enforcer Kogami Shinya!" Gino glared at her. "What a ridiculous statement. Ms. Tsunemori would never hide from us. Plus, he would never be so stupid as to come back to the country in which he was exiled!" Mika walked up to him, now irritated by how completely clueless he had been. "Are you really so daft? You don't believe that there's a possibility that he could have come back for his own reasons? After all... He IS a terrorist."Gino gritted his teeth. As much as he grew to despise his old friend, he was not about to let her insult a man that wasn't there to defend himself. Despite what had happened, Ginoza had a decent amount of respect for Shinya. Especially after his attempts to ensure Akane's safety in the past. Though, deep down he knew there had to be a good reason, if he really was with her right now, to come back to Japan. As the two of them squabbled, Kinizuka and Hinakawa continued to look for any other evidence that may indicate where they had gone. Upon inspection, she was able to track bloody footprints and proceeded to follow them until they were no longer visible.

Kogami and Akane ran as far away from the crime scene as they could. When they came to a more secluded area, he pulled out his phone and called Ahmed to come pick them both up. The taxi pulled up and they climbed in quickly, now heading back to the camp they had stayed in while they searched for Sybyl. It looked similar to where Shinya had been staying when they stayed at the military base in SEAUn. Akane saw it as somewhat nostalgic, even after all the horrible things that ensued there. Before they exited the vehicle, he told her about his plan. "There's something I need you to do for me." She listened intently. "Before we get out, I need you to wear these, and stay silent." He held out a pair of handcuffs. "You'll need to wear these so you'll look more like a hostage. She raised her eyebrows with a bit of worry, wondering if these people were going to hurt her if she hadn't appeared as a captive. Without question, she put on the cuffs. "May I ask why I have to do this?" He placed one hand on her head. "Because if you don't, they may think you're a spy. I don't want you to get hurt. "If that's true, then why isn't he attacking me right now?" She pointed to Ahmed. Who had only recently changed out of his disguise. "Ahmed is a good friend of mine. He wouldn't stoop so low. Ahmed, this is Akane Tsunemori. She's one of the head officers at the MWPSB and knows more about Sybyl than anyone. She's gonna help us take down Sybyl. Ahmed smiled, looking less treatening and appearing infinitely more friendly. "Hello Mees. Tsunemorrie, I am Ahmeed. It's very nice to finally meet! Sheenyah has told me a lot about you." He held out his hand. "Oh! It's very nice to meet you too, sir." She shook his hand, slightly confused about how familiar he was with her existence. She looked at Kogami who was now acting oddly timid, while sheepishly rubbing the back of his head. "I.. used to talk about you sometimes." Akane just smiled. This was a weird yet exiting development in his character. Shinya, Akane, and Ahmed all exited the car after collecting themselves and appeared more fitting to the situation. Kogami told them about where he was so they wouldn't label him as AWOL or a traitor. "I captured one of the MWPSB's most prized workers. This is Akane Tsumemori and she's able to receive direct communication with Sybyl. She will help us to track her down."Some men that were gathered around a fire chuckled, and made snide remarks about her. Kou bit his tongue, trying his hardest to keep himself from throttling the drunken fools. Akane just looked annoyed by their insults and remained silent as Shinya instructed.

Now unable to track her further, they went to slightly more drastic measures. Searching high and low, interrogating anyone who may have seen the young inspector last. Though he wouldn't show it much, Sho was also quite worried about the woman he deemed his "big sister" since he became an enforcer. Hinakawa had always looked to her as a figure of trust and respect. He couldn't believe what kind of things Shimotsuki had accused her of. He wanted to speak up but was much too shy to say anything to his higher ranking co-worker. So he sat in silence, waiting for their next course of action. Mika however, grew impatient with getting absolutely nowhere and went to discuss matters with Kaisei. Mika would go to her often. Though the reason behind her frequent visits was unsure to the rest of them. Not even. Akane knew why she would meet with her regularly but eventually Hinakawa's curiosity overcame him, allowing him to find out about Kasei's next course of action in terms of helping run a system fueled on political enslavement and corruption. He was disturbed to discover just how messed up Mika truly was. He planned to tell the others but was unsuccessful in doing so. Because of his timid personality, he was unable to alert the others of Sybyl's true intentions right away but once he could talk to Akane in private, he opened up, allowing her to work behind the scenes and figure out more about who and what Sybyl really was. Due to his non- negotiable trust, he told her everything he heard whilst eavesdropping, before she had went after the latent criminal . Sho laid his head down on his desk. Wondering if she was safe and unharmed. The thought of her being scathed caused him great emotional distress. He cared for both her and Shinya like they were his own family. It was only natural. Still, Sho couldn't help but think of the possibility that she could be endanger. Especially if Mika's predictions were true.
